Default Don't Starve Starting Season
So there's only summer and winter options as starting season in default DS, what the heck? I wanted a new player to try out the original game before Reign and Shipwrecked, but what is this absurd and extremely difficult restriction?

I remember getting annoyed previously at this game because some of the features or options were confusing like this and ran me around in circles for awhile trying to figure them out.

I've never played DS vanilla so I never noticed this and tbh, IMO there is no reason to actually play normal DS instead of RoG considering you can disable giants in RoG

DS vanilla has Summer(Fall in RoG) and Winter(Winter in RoG).
Overheating via non-fire sources is not possible.
There is no "wetness".

EDIT: I mean to say that you can only burn, not overheat like Summer in RoG.

Yeah I realized that with turning off summer and giants it's pretty much vanilla. I was just trying to get back to the original DS experience but I suppose that doesn't really matter with every little detail.

Ah! That makes sense since the summer season was added by RoG anyway and vanilla never had a summer.
Thanks for the answers.

So is DST the only one that has all four seasons?

No.

DS has RoG DLC, which then adds all 4 seasons.

Ah okay. Thank you. I've just been playing vanilla and was confused that I only had summer and winter. xD
