if anything they do work as great distractions.
They die all the time, mostly to FF. And that in situations where you need the firepower the most.
Their pathing sux, often end up as statues that just sits there and stare into the wall.
They take up enough points in the skilltree to leave you weaker in other more usefull areas.
ie Inspire(with deploys on top) vs Converts
But theyre are way better to seek cover and provide coverfire than many gives em credit for.
Also, 2 cops will effectively reduce the fire on the grp by 33 % - quite handy sometimes.
Theyre kinda like a throw-away sentry imo. and thats a sentry that moves, dont need refill but dies easier.
And i havnt even mentioned all the passive grp-buff you can get
Also, it's good to try to selectively convert the enemies. Tans take a hell of a long time to die, and bronco cops absolutely ♥♥♥♥ everyone up (before Update 100, converted bronco cops were known to take down dozers on their own)
Their only real problem is that their AI sucks.
yea i thougt so too, but im aware theres still a ton of stuff i dunno about this game, skills ive read and forgot about etc.
Could be i missed some details somewhere
There is also the point that if you are in the lobby before pre-planning you could check what other people are running and switch skill sets so you have a nice range between you, someone able to take hostages and someone able to use inspire are always good additions to the team.
other enemies will aim for his cheast so will take a while to kill him.
he will basicly be a good damage sponge.
so basicly all you get from it is a good damage sponge to draw some of the cops fire.
But converts are only good as long as no one on your team is using fire GLs or firetrap tripmines.
