resetting all progress/back up save

its getting monotonous at xxv-100 so i was thinking of resetting my progress. wondering if its possible to back up my current inventory/level if i find the lack of attachments is driving me crazy.

I know this doesn't answer the question, admittedly I don't know much about messing with saves and whether or not you can swap them out like that in this game. But if you're just looking to level up again, this mod is really nice: http://lastbullet.net/mydownloads.php?action=view_down&did=14931

Basically that lets you redo infamy 25 as many times as you want, with no added stat boosts or anything like that. Once you get to 25-100, you can go "infamous" and reset down to 25-0. It won't reset your inventory either, so you don't have to worry about losing all of your masks and attachments. If you're just looking to level up and unlock gear again, that'll probably satisfy you. Again, I know that doesn't answer the question, but that's a good backup if you prefer.

Your save is located in Steam/userdata/<account ID>/218620/remote

There are two savefiles there - save000.sav and save098.sav. The first one is the configuration, the second one is the progress savefile and what you need to switch out.

Saves are locked to account(so trying to use your save on another account will not work), but beyond that, you can swap them around willy nilly as much as you please.

just dont reset your achievements and then use your back up again, as it will give you all your infamy achievements at the same timestamp and you will look like a big fat cheater nerd :)

i was just going to leave my achievments as they are so i get those attachments right away (i assume thats how it works). thanks for the guide

yep that works, all masks patterns colors and weapon mods that unlock via achievement will remain unlocked. so you can start 0-0 with deathwish mask and get kicked from tons of games and they scream obscentities at you assuming you have cheated.... Did it a while back myself. good fun :)

If i had cop i would reset again, but im a filthy cop peasant :(

@OP bear in mind you will lose baby masks from safehouse nightmare, not sure if they are stored in your save backup or not.
