English Longbow VS Plainsrider Bow VS Light Crossbow VS Heavy Crossbow
I know that all of those are underpowered (not to say useless) if compared to hitscan weapons and probably shouldn't be in this game, but I also know that there are people who enjoy each of those weapons.

Now, let's see which one of those is the most enjoyed arrow/bolt shooting primary weapon in the game. Tell me which one you like most and why.

Btw, I will try to make a comment on majority of the responses.

I enjoy the light crossbow the most.
Loading the arrows up is not too long, and, being a crossbow, there is no need to charge the bow before shooting.

This damage and range though.

Plainsrider Bow. With explosive arrows, it's a quite useful primary option for dodge and crit builds due coming with 30 concealment and, if using the exclusive extra ammo boost, 58 arrows which should be enought to deal with any Dozer or Shield you encounter in the heist. It also has a quick RoF and offers some AoE.

The other three are... kind of junk, actually.

I wouldn't say junk, light crossbow also is quick, can have explosive/poisoned arrows and you don't need to charge it before each shot. And English Longbow is a beast. Also, they all have a really high concealment. But heavy crossbow is just so annoying for me.

If I wanted to be actually useful for the team, and have these "Range" and "Damage" you speak of, I would have used an actual gun.
When using the bad weapons for fun, do not expect to be useful.

It's one thing to bring something useless, but another is bringing something that can't kill anything. My personal problem with this weapon is that it requieres you to get headshots, but at the same time makes it difficult to get headshots, as light crossbow bolts travel on a curve that is not intuitive for me.

Can't say that, i really like to use both bows and the light crossbow with explosive arrows/bolts with a pistol or secondary smg, effective and fun to use. The large crossbow takes forever to load so it is pretty useless though it looks awesome.

What's cool about the large bow is that with it's high damage you can take down multiple shields and surrounding enemies with one arrow if fully charged, you might think it's too slow but unlike the small bow you don't need to fully charge it to destroy a single shield.

I prefer them to grenade launchers as i think they are dull and need zero skill though i have to admit that they are the better choice when you get overrun.

What's also cool is that an explosive arrow/bolt to the head can ruin a cloaker, HE rounds don't do that and the bows look and feel great, Plainsrider has very cool skins also. Most people don't like the Chivalry stuff but i love it, same with the longsword, that drawing sound alone is awesome, that's pure manliness, just like taking out cloakers/tasers with a thrown spear or putting three of them in a dozer face ;)

This things require some skill and practice but once you are accurate under pressure it's really fun stuff and a great addition to the game imo.

Light Crossbow w/Explosive Bolt.

It's perfect for my main build. I use it to kill shields, stun dozers, kill Winters, and take off turrent's shield. Everything else, secondary.

The only problem could be the lack of ammo pick up capacity when playing long heists like cook off, FWB (doing overdrill), etc. When that happens, I usually save ammo just for dozers and Winters, or just take another build with a grenade launcher.

I used to play with Piglet, GL40 or Plainsrider Bow (explosive arrows) before.

The one I enjoy the most would be Plainsrider, the one I'd consider the most useful would be the English Longbow.

Why do I enjoy the Plainsrider, you ask?

As an actual fragging weapon in DW (ie. not an explosive secondary), my favourite is the english longbow. Light Crossbow and Plainsrider performs similarly but there's something about the slow draw and the power of the english longbow.

The pistol crossbow is also slowly growing on me despite it being a really terrible weapon with a range not much further than your character's grenade throw. Just need berserker to make it somewhat ok as a DW fragging weapon but even still it needs 2 headshots to kill tans.

The light crossbow is very handy. I even favor it over the judge as utility now.
Heavy crossbow is fun and you have to plan your time. And heavy can 1-shot dozer on critical.
Maybe English Longbow too, i didn't try.

P.S. HE bolts.

I enjoy the light crossbow HE a lot for the lower damage/faster reload when doing a melee build.
For pure damage, ive always enjoyed the English longbow, crits with that thing hit like a truck, usually a one hit kill against anything with crits. Only problem is the slow reload...
