As for the gun, if you're going with builds that don't focus on concealment/dodge, I can't say it'd be the first choice I'd go for, but it's still one that should perform perfectly fine up to Mayhem difficulty as up to that point the game is still rather easy for an experienced PD2 player -- it'd just be a matter of building up that experience (which is something many people seem to love flaunting around in the forums when a newcomer looks for advice)
Generally speaking though, that gun is used for its strong damage and concealment making it a decent choice for dodge builds that want a DMR-type weapon.
At the end of the day though, I'd also suggest to experiment with weapons and builds to find what you like most. "Meta builds" will always be out there though for those that'd rather "optimize" their gameplay, as opposed to simply using whatever they feel like and finding ways to make those non-meta choices work out.
The main strength of the Cavity 9mm is it's high concealment and high semi-auto damage, but there are plenty of other things that do the same thing that have fewer downsides.
Not one of my favorite picks, but it's fine for stealth maps or if you can aim pretty well. Takes a lot of skills IMO to make it more viable given it's bad basic accuracy, but heck in stealth you won't even use it so it's just a concealment stat stick.
Basically it's a single pistol primary that doesn't take advantage of the pistol skills as far as I know. So it's in a weird spot, and isn't generally that great compared to other things.
If you make it work for you, then it's fine though.
