Well, here's the 2026 update. Payday 3 has failed completely, and Starbreeze, ever clueless, thinks they can fix it by dropping all their other projects and focusing exclusively on 3. They're wrong and it's over for them, but as a byproduct of that decision, they have given Payday 2 over to a group of modders who 1) know what they're doing 2) care about the game. As a result, for the first time in years, the game is getting updates that are actually improving the experience.

That said, the biggest problem with the game, EOS integration, isn't something that they can fix, but the future is at least looking hopeful.
