Stealth/loud hybrid builds?
So back when I was playing before Update 100, there are always 2 builds: Stealth and loud. But no one (besides me) thought of a stealth and loud hybrid build, and I decided to make one. (And gets clobbered hard)

After the skill revamp, I can see there's potential in a hybrid build, but it doesn't seem anyone knows about it. (Or at least, use it)

So as of now, are they still viable, or just straight up garbage?

Well people would just do either pure stealth or pure loud, rarely people would try an hybrid instead of restarting, i want to say that it's the same

I liked hybrid builds in the past. It often used the armor case but I think it got buggy at one point and stopped giving the proper concealment score or something and it got forgotten about. The other thing that reduced it as utility was the loss of pro jobs. When you had to stick with one loadout for three days it made sense to have builds with more options and flexibility. I also enjoy some of the maps where you can get quite far in stealth and still have advantages or a lead when it goes loud. I don't like to quit and restart unless I am determined to do a stealth run experience.

Crit/dodge concealment builds are probably your best bet for stealth/loud hybrid builds, they can do okay stealth while not necessarily being neutered for loud, but...

this really is the general sentiment. You're better off going full stealth and restarting, or full loud and just shoot things up, going halfway only makes both ways harder.

EDIT: there is some use for this on Crime Spree, but mostly just because the stealth modifiers quickly make proper stealth unfeasible.

There's also the matter of fact of this, quite a few missions throw any stealth progress out the window the second things go loud, it really is quite a shame.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ framing frame.
Well at least you get more money if you grab the gold bars and after you get the bags go guns blazing.

Still, it's fun to use it once in a while in Overkill diff.
Once you go up to Mayhem it stops being fun due to how underpowered you are.

They are pretty much garbage. This is why multiple profiles exist. Why have an underpowered build when you can change between two builds on the briefing screen?

I'm a big fan of hybrid builds. Quite often i use a loud based setup with low detection. This also works in my favour because i can use crits with the build.
I even took it to the next level. I recently made possibly the strangest hybrid build out there.

I wouldn't use it for death wish though.

I have a hybrid build that I used a lot when I first started playing on the lower levels, but it really only makes sense up to about Very Hard. I use the lightest armour, have concealable submachine guns (in addition to a silenced pistol of course), and carry doc bags, just in case - with the right perks and skills, my visibility level is about 6 or 7 on this hybrid. When stealth has gone wrong, I have survived while my team mates with pure stealth builds fall down a lot. However, now that I sometimes play OK and above, I find that it doesn't make sense to use the hybrid build any more unless I am playing on the lower levels. Mostly, I use my separate loud and stealth builds now.

I just bring one of my situational rogue builds. I only play dodge, so I use most of my profile slots for the same Izhma-Judge crit combo, with different support loadouts. So I have Inspire, saw, ECM, C4, messiah versions of it. For heists where we plan to break stealth, I just grab one of those.
Sure, I don't have the stealth skills, but that's the smaller disadvantage compared to missing the loud skills when stealth is broken.

hybrid builds are only useful for crime sprees, as restarting a failed stealth is not an option. A hacker dodge crit build is good, and your deployable should be ECMs, as they are very useful in stealth + loud aswell as hacker perkdeck.

Unless you're playing on Mayhem or below, hybrid build won't do you much good unless you fail already at the escape part and have to just survive a few minutes, in which case ECM Feedback and flashbangs should get you through even on DS/OD, though bringing something like Cavity to take out stragglers in your way is a good idea.

Still solid even for DSOD.

The problem is that there is no reason to made it.

Tried some back in the day. Being hybrid they are not perfect in one or another, but they are really good and playable. I enjoy playing hybrid heists as stealth until they go wrong and just go loud from there and those are my cup of tea. In the end it is up to the group, but they work really well
Jostabeere Jun 4, 2019 @ 1:45pm
Why don't you just get good at stealth?
Epseudoo Jun 4, 2019 @ 2:26pm
The only use i had for an hybrid build is for crimes spree ( speedrun forever ).
And past pro job ( And even then for that one, i prefered to take full loud build ... yoop was harder but more challenging for us ) .
