Any chance of it going free again?

Against all odds, I somehow completly missed the sale when it was free to own and that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ has been haunting me every time I click on The Heist and see the bloody news tab. But I also know that the Payday 2 "no pay day" was a special event brought out by the community, is there any chance of this sort of thing happening again, or should I just get it cheap sometime?

To the best of my knowledge, that was the only time Payday 2 was ever "free-to-keep". I wouldn't count on it happening in quite a while-- I could maybe see it happening when Payday 3 comes out (which will almost certainly not be for another few years, we're talking 2020/2021) as some sort of promotion, but other than that I don't like the odds.

I'd pick it up on sale (which tends to happen fairly often) or as part of a Humble Bundle (not nearly as common but it does happen).

It would just be the game base, better off buying a complete collection during sales.

No no NOOOO. I don't want more safe farmers killing the prices of skins. Now the CS5 legendary skin is worth 20 dollars! Seriously? (also locked out of the market thanks to the need to make a purchase of something steam related, thanks valve.)

I have been bugged since forever as well when I missed the 85% DLC off for payday 2 DLC and the previous 2014 PD:TH free download, but the need to get the game free shouldn't really bother you, and besides, you learn that you miss out on a lot of exclusive things sometimes. Just get it on a sale.

Unlikely. They only gave away the free game as a promotion for the Ultimate Edition, and then they only gave away the base game, not the UE.

There's always a chance it could go free for a short time sometime after Payday 3's release. After all, the first game did go free for a day during one of the sales.

Free to own? Unlikely. That was a promotional event for the Ultimate edition and a pretty bum deal on top of that. The base game at this point is just a demo for the Ultimate Edition.

Free to play for a weekend? Most likely a bunch more times.

That's something we can't publicly share. With the way the UE is designed it's unlikely it will go free anytime soon.

Well i do not agree.
More safes farmers, lower prices for me.

I like it because mostly i buy skins, not sell.

It might go free again but I would just get the game cheeper somewhere other then steam but make sure you get the ultimate edition or you will be locked out of most of the games content which used to be DLC
