Thoughts on Duke?

I like him. It's a welcome change from having a bunch of crazy edgelord characters. Lines are solid, his Perkdeck is amazing, and his outfit is pretty cool as well. Haven't tried his pistols since I've been messing around with the Grimm Brothers, so I don't know about those.

Like or dislike Duke, you can't deny the fact that all those people hating on him were wrong. Personally, I'm glad Overkill was able to shut those people up by making a great character.

Game needs more cool, sane and professional heisters and Duke fitted the requirement perfectly for me. His pistols really gave a good alternative to akimbo bernettis and might be even better imo. His perk deck is borderline op but it is fine with me because it injected a new playstyle into OD

This. The game is seriously lacking any serious, professional, calm and collected heisters. We got a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that scream and swear all the time. I'm glad Duke changed the tone and I guess you could say, set the bar for how serious characters should be.

But it was Overkill who decided to add it. Which of course wasn't the most popular character but yea. They could always just decide to add more screaming characters into the game.

I find Duke to be an amazing addition to the crew, bonus points that he doesn't swear once, really a refreshing change. Having a gentelmen thief really opens the door on what a criminal can be instead of just some roid fueld junkie looking for a thrill. But now I'm just trying to think what heister is an "edge lord." Closest thing I can come up with would be Bohdi I suppose.

Duke was blessed with a voice actor who I swear could read a phone book and keep me entertained and with lines that aren't so over the top to waste potential. Since I'm usually too busy shooting cops to be checking out heisters, that's really all that matters to me.

Was playing Houston since the purchase (3 years ago), liked his DONACDUM and stuff.
After August-Duke release - I got myself new favorite character. Nice VA, nice lines, nice appearance. Overall a good character.

Wow I actually forgot about Sydney and Rust yeah they definetly fit that memo. I do agree with Hoxton sort of going down that route now as well unfortunately. Jimmy is just a coke addict I wouldn't really call that edgy, I find him more of a comedic relief character since he's so over the top. Could only wonder how the next batch of heisters will turn out. If they got Duke right I'm only hoping they get H3 right by making them actual characters.
