Making Firestarter Day 1 (officially) stealthable
Firestarter was a heist me and my friends used to play a lot, and I do mean A LOT. It was one of our "go to" heists to play. However nowadays we almost never play it, and if we do play it we do it all loud.

Why is this you ask? Well it has to mainly with how the treatment of skills and builds has changed since the Diamond update.

Before that you could only have one build so normally if people wanted to stealth they'd also have to make sure that they had some loud skills as well since nobody wanted to have to fully respec everytime they wanted to do something stealth or loud. This meant that the "Day 1 loud only, Day 2 & 3 can be stealthed" structure of Firestarter worked fine.

But ever since the addition of the skill profiler most people (me and my friends included) have opted instead to make full stealth builds and full loud builds instead, we can swap between them for free after all and we've generally had more fun/success in both stealth and loud ever since.

Since doing this has pretty much become the "norm" it puts Firestarter in a weird spot. We can't bring our stealth builds because Day 1 is loud and we can't really do the stealth on Day 2 or 3 because we brought our loud builds. We could try and make hybrid builds, however we'd only ever use those builds for 1 heist in the entire game so it seems like a waste of a slot.

This is why Firestarter Day 1 should be made stealthable. This would mean getting rid of the Mendoza's hotwire to 9-1-1 however so some other tweaks would need to be made to prevent stealth from being too easy.

I think the best way to do it would be to have a "loud noise" alarm trigger similar to Big Oil Day 1 where if a player or NPC fires off an unsilenced weapon it causes the cops to show up.(Thus preventing people from ECM rushing this heist) This could also apply if a Saw/C4 was used to open the trucks thus forcing players to Drill or Silent Saw them open.

Making the Mendoza's notice broken security camera's (which they currently don't) could also add to the challenge of stealth on this heist.

I don't see how these changes would be all that hard to implement and doing so would make this heist fit in with how most people play the game now in terms of their skills.

Hence why I said "officially stealthable"

Well, to be fair, pretty much you only need a silent kill (Hidden Blade/Shinobi aced), Control Freak aced and basic cleaner... Maybe for Firestarter day 2 a door opening ECM or Lockpicking a safe... But the 3 main things can be worked into a build quite simply, specially into Mastermind/Fugitive that 99% of people seem to be running these days..

The FBI is already watching the airport, since Hector, the Rat behind Hoxton's arrest, snitched out the plan to the FBI. So i guess stealth would be out of Place with the F.b.i. watching the whole scene

I know about all that. But if the Airport was really under such tight surveillance then wouldn't the cops show up the instant we set foot on the premises? Besides this still somewhat fits into my rework idea as the cops would show up if a loud noise is made.

It'd require a total heist rework IMO.

Why? Even with the Big Oil method of alarm triggering, the heist would still be a lame stealth heist. Not to mention that I could probably solo stealth it on DW with some careful aiming with that system. I think FS day 1 could be made stealthable, but parts of the heist should be revamped in order for it to be decent.

me and my buddies play it for the extremely hard challenge of stealthing day 1, but i've never even attempted it on DW.

with a complete stealth build + ecm feedback you could probably ecm feedback rush it with a full team.

Actually, since about December, killing X Mendozas automatically triggers the alarm

Feedback never stuns in stealth and it's useless on gangsters since they don't use radio earpieces.

also, it goes loud when the're alerted for more then like half a second, the only way to stealth it atm is by taking out ALL gangsters b4 they alert for that fraction of a second and by shooting all cams. its really the ultimate stealth job, they should just add the achievo and call it a day lol

The retconned nonsense story doesn't really work though. 1) because it can be stealthed, and 2) because they turn up no faster other heists.

The heist should remain how it is during stealth and they should just drop an achievement in there. It's a challenging day for most people and I like that we actually have a difficult heist to stealth through compared to anything else where we don't have to drop in some extra challenges to make it hard enough.

I'd love if they changed it to Big Oil style, so that one Alert alone doesn't magically call the cops but only on loud gunfire. Would also (like Big Oil) give a purpose to silenced snipers, since FS day one could heavily profit from a guy on the roof looking over everything, taking out gangsters if necessary.

Well it partially works a bit like that already in FS1. All the outside stationaries may be alerted in fact and use a pager or their gun to call the cops (or in fact just alert other people who insta-call the cops then). Same goes for any roamer, that changes his path towards a loud drill. He'll also act like a biker on BO1 from then on. However, that's less of use in fact.
Mickey Havoc May 1, 2015 @ 6:03am
I have a vid on my profile(just the last few min of the heist, rec messed up) with part of my crew and I and you just explained our tactic to a T, the silent snipers REALLY shine here, you take the target out waay b4 they see anything, then a buddy sneaks in to clean up the mess(body). pretty sure w only had one guy with ace body bag deployable. you just NEED to be aware of your suroundings tho, can start a chain reaction then GG lol
