I'm semi-scared of FPS games and I "suffer" from Monochromacy, any ideas on this?
I'm not very good at FPS games, and people I've tried playing with in the past either yell at me for being bad or "doing something stupid" which I'm sure I do, unintentionally. How is the community? Are people nice by chance and will not destroy me for being bad?

Lastly I'm a monochromat, aka, I see only gray scale and lack full color vision. Will this affect me? Is color a game play component?

Also is this game extremely competitive? I googled the game up and found there was a tournament kinda recently. I'm asking because I can only take so much competitiveness at a time and I already play that league game sometimes.

I think I have a few friends who play this but mostly not, I'll most likely be alone :C

Maybe we could play later, I need some sleep stuffs.
I played a lot of games this community seems to be mature so far no insults and the most teamkills were made by accident in the heat of commbat you can try to play support roles like medic or engenier to get feeling for the game. In my opinion going for the kill is hard in this game for newcommers as the charakters can take some damage and make it easy for newbies to score a lucky kill

Oh, this game has support people roles, that's neat.
don't worry. they won't shout at you unless they have a mic. though, if you are as bad as you say you are, they may try to kill you. there is friendly fire in the game. it will cost them though.

you can play with me. i don't really mind. i'm a noob too.
You will probably be fine as far as people being friendly and such, As for the color blindness, well that will very likely cause you problems. The primary method to tell the teams apart (especialy at any distance) is by color coding, friendly teams have a blue tag/name, enemy teams have a red tag/name. If you are unable to tell the colors apart, you will have considerable issues.
At close range the uniform styles are noticably diferant, but often times you are fighting to far away to see enough detail to tell, especialy during fast paced combat.
Yeah you can heal/res damaged or dead players as a medic or you can even go repair all the turrets on a base as engineer after the storm for some xp then you can get yourself a tank with certs it is less stressful then going in the heat of battle as an infantry i think you can stay further away and try to destroy turrets for decent xp if you get damaged just back away and repair it for a little xp too after that get certs to be able to get another tank if it gets destroyed faster and become a dedicated tank player pretty chill.
I only get angry if I die 5 times in a row from an ally tank running me over or someone just shooting me or the occassion when NC has a server population of 38% while Vanu and TR are 31% and the NC cant control anything (Makes me wonder if the numbers are broken...) But other than that, there is very little smack talk compared to other P4F FPS games.
Honestly, I do think you'll struggle playing this because of your monochromacy.
The character models are not drastically different from each other.

As for whether the game is 'extremely competitve'?... I'd have to say not really.
You can casually hop a ride in someone elses vehicle and gun for them and repair (as an engineer). Usually it's one side or another sweeping through with a massive army (depending on the continent). Just try to figure out which continent your faction is focusing on, go there, and stick with the pack.

P.S. It can be really infuriating though, so be prepared for that. This is why you need to stick with the winning pack, at least early on, because you will need the exp / unlocks to be more competitive, or else struggle mightily for much longer than you should.

he can Just press Q each time if you target someone from far it will tell you if its an enemy and what class it is and give you xp for spotting it for your side.

Never said it wasnt possible, but with the fast reaction times required for a FPS, it would be a significant disadvantage, and a likely deterant to his enjoyment of the game.

But its free, just try it.
use a tank or aircraft, and spot the non-faction specific vehicles before firing.
The UI itself is pretty monochromatic to begin with, so it's confusing even for people able to see full colors. Give it a try and see what you think over time. You might want to consider sticking to support roles or whatever fits your thoughts.

Consider making a VS character as they are probably the most distinct between TR and NC.
It seems people rarely communicate in this game, at least for the time being. When I played it a few days ago they rarely did as long as I wasn't in a troop or joining Galaxys (large transport aircrafts) starting off to attack large bases since communication is desired and strongly recommended there. Apart from that people pretty much fight and die alone, around the same places but without great coordination. That's why you will most likely not be barked at like in other FPS (as long as you don't drive over the same guy over and over again with your tank at the same base exit - which I assume will never happen considering the big amount of players, the variety of places to fight at and the constant shift of ownership over bases).
