Not all complaints are legit, but most are. The game still has a ton of problems, from level events not triggering right, or not ending, or causing your camera to go deep in the level and the only fix for it is a restart.
Solo, definitely not, to say the bots are pants-on-head levels of stupid would be a compliment. It's simply unplayable solo unless you want to do DM mode. Playing with randoms is usually fine, but if you host almost nobody will join your game unless you want to wait 45+ minutes.
It's easy to find games but odds are you can't connect to half of them.
With all that in mind, it's up to you if you wanna risk the purchase. Just know that even when it works, it's still buggy as hell.
I've been playing with randoms and having a good time. However, if you want to DM you'll probably have to add some people from the forum. Otherwise it's a lot of waiting lol.
Though when it comes to getting a good bulk of a community one chance is mostly all your gonna get becuase good luck getting that amount of people playing again(Or even close for that matter.). The game is pretty much good to play now, but there lies the problem of getting all those players back....
If you have a good computer your gonna experience little to no bugs. Bugs that I have seen now don't compare to when the game first came out.
BUT they've really got to rehaul the terribly stupid A.I. Yeah, I know it's encouraged to go online but I don't want to have to deal with people online EVERY time I play.
The other issue is the camera which often times moves off tither and yon to some other place on the map while you're getting the bash and then the camera scrolls back slowly to where you were at only to find you spread eagle on your back with your pants missing and a bologna sandwich sticking out of your mouth.
The healer in your party could've helped but he prefers to just keep jumping in place during a crisis like he's having some 90-year-old's conniptions.
But yeah, AVOID. At best, it's a beta.
DL had a fairly good idea, but it got killed by a horde of bugs, unbalanced gameplay, and bad design. (Seriously, why does Adventure Mode even exist? If I wanted to do that, I'd just play Diablo or Torchlight.)
Being able to play with a group of friends over on the same screen is amazing and even if it's not perfect yet being able to join online with friends locally as well is awesome.
However, since there is no character evolution and only 3 maps, things get boring quickly.
