Why all the different versions?

I really don't understand why they had to handle the different region releases separately on Steam.
It's no big deal, it's just weird to see RHCP next to my game's title in the library, plus I can't really compare my achievements to my friends' and the real global ones.
I guess I shouldn't complain though. The retail version was cheaper than the Steam one and I recieved a cool Dishonored t-shirt, a poster and the Shadow Rat DLC as a pre-order bonus. Certainly beats the TF2 hats Steam offered if you ask me.
Still, it is strange how Steam segregated the Dishnored community based on region.

Yeah, I know - this sucks! For example I'm in one bag with Russian, Hungarian and Czech players.

It's all Bethesda and greedy Cenega fault. Cenega is a local distributor on Eastern Europe so they made a deal to sell games separatly. And that's not all... But I don't want to bore you guys....

Skyrim was like this first. I'm from Hungary and that game was region locked as well. Whenever it was on sale, its icon was a message saying it was not available in my region and I couldn't reach its store page. Sometime, in the beginning of this year, the lock was lifted though, because Steam store proudly announced it is "Now Available". I hope Dishonored RHCP will be merged with the regular version at some point.

Hmm, New Vegas is still in "our" region separatly.

What I am doing is boycotting local retailers, and I buy only on Steam.

Many ppl had wrote a letters. Cenega says it is Beth fault, and Beth says that this is Cenega fault. o,O

Batman Arkham City - Not in our region (Slovakia), but Arkham Asylum is available. Why?
It's weird that I bought Dishonored on Steam store from Slovakia (slovak steam account, Slovak PC, Slovak IP, no VPN etc.) and I recieve mail confirmation where is Dishonored RHCP (RU). What the f...???

Yeah even the Steam version of Dishonored is region locked. It sucks.

I think its because of localizations. And local distributors policy.

Ohh yes, that sucks so much...
But I don't really mind it as long as english language is available and updates are delivered in the same time.

Yeah, pisses me off too. It also pisses me off that I didn't know about this beforehamd. But to be honest I would still go for it because of nice T-shirt (different than BigBoss posted - grey) and cheaper price.

Made a ticket about this few mins ago. I sincerly dont get it. I dont consider myself a xenophobic, but I really cant speak russian so forums and comm.center are useless for me at that time :/. Why cant I select what language I want the stuff not directly connected with the game (like forums on steam), which has nothing to do what local distributor has released the game.. :/
