stuck on andrews quest Oceanic History part 6

so im at the part where im supposed to search east Africa and have translated the book and found the ring but really lost where im supposed to be going next

There are actually two books, so make you sure you also translated the damaged logbook. If you did, it will tell you to go to Massawa.

Try going to Basrah and translating a book in the library there to find the 'Rock-Hewn Church' in Massawa.

how do i translate the log book? that will be the one im missing

It'll be in the Basrah library. It can be a little tricky to get the skills necessary but the ring you got helps a lot.

Hello, I've finally translated both books, and found the church in massawa but the quest didn't update or anything and I'm left confused and frustrated. What am I missing?

Nevermind, I left the town and after a couple days of sailing some characters talked and the way forward became clear.

Stuck here too, was there any other events you may have found? I have the ring and found the church, been sailing a few more months and no events =/


Edit: Finally got the event on the ships to progress! What triggered it? No idea but I have a theory, it went off after I finally visited Madagascar, the last port in east africa/indian ocean I had not visited. I imagine it wanted you to visit every port or discover every port for the quest even if they were no where near where all the other events took place.

Madagascar, this is the 2nd time you have frustrated me to no end in a video game

You just gotta hunt around for the treasures you need really. Brawling treasures are probably the hardest to find, at least ones that give more than just +1. Daniel could probably be a good choice for that book. The ring is gained from another book in the Basra library and is needed for your main quest, it gives +3 medicine so it can help a lot with the damaged logbook.

i am stuck on this as well it seems i did the books found the church did not find this ring been looking in posts all over world and still nothing so i need help cause can't beat it till i figure this out

The ring can be found in the expedition post just outside of Suez, to the east. Use your lookout when you're on the entrance of the *other* waterway (not the gulf where Suez itself is in).

found it reason i had issue cause i had this area read 100% before done and when you go back here show everythign done btu progress bar changed to 90%

It seems like you have to discover all east africa ports, including that sneaky madigascar port! Spent a good 4 hours wondering what I was doing wrong since I had both required discoveries, Thank you!
