I'm not taking one side or the other, Rome2 hs always worked fairly well for me and I played it quite alot. Truth is I don't find it as strong as other TW titles and got bored with it quicker than others.
My hopes it does get up there with Shogun for playability, with epic expansions but I feel it won't. Shogun 2 was a little dry before I got Fall of the Samurai and Rise of the Samurai...hope the same thing happens with Rome2
Yes but for every 0 there is also a 10 that is also clearly not thought out, you quite clearly go out of your way to present only 1 side and you cannot explain away the Shogun score because it does not fit your theory. Happy customers do post, they post when they get hassle free quality.
In fact, given that OP and chums approve of metacritic as a metric of how good a game is, they are demonstrating that they probably would have ruined the game in just the same way if left in charge.
Show me just one in the first 5 pages (150 reviews).
Indeed the reviews speak for themselves.
"I was a massive fan of Total War: Rome and played it for many years". Yeah, alright then mate.
And here's me thinking that 5/6 months after release that we were left with a more discerning crowd in these forums, haters or fanboys. I get Micksters point but think we also have to consider that R2 was probably THE most highly anticipated release of the TW series and therefore attracted far more interest than S2, that I think was somewhat more of a niche market audience.
I'm sorry, I've read a couple of these reviews on metacritic and me, personally, I just can't take any of it seriously, at least the crtitcs in this forum are able to make articulate and relevent arguements as opposed to petulent tantrums and hissy fits

Just go off of the critic score. For every game in that matter because these PEOPLE do not matter
Buy this game or don't
But for the love of god.. do not think for a second that your well informed by the opinion these emotionally compromised nobodies.
Alot of games are going under because of Metacritics User Score section and i'm against this list.
Copy and Paste this.
Rate zero
Please pass it on.
Yes.....scored it as a zero just to show it can be done.
And you guys are taking this seriously?
I'm really enjoying Rome 2, and if it's as bad compared to the old ones as people say, they must have been great.
can you not do the same with instead of 0 make it 10?????? reverse ya argument, maybe we should not have scores play the game and decide for ourselves
That's uh...Not what the Navy are up to.
