You get the good/other ending if you manage to collect all orbs hidden in the world of Chac Mool. In total there are six orbs. Five you have to find during playing and the last one you get after defeating the endboss. But collecting the orbs is the most difficult part of the game and can be very annoying to be obtained (especially the Top of the Tree part and the vanishing platforms) for most people who have not enough patience/are not accustomed to platformers or who prefer blaming poor controls/level design instead of their poor abilities.
Ok. So now I have completed the game once. How do I know how many orbs I obtained, and do I need to restart a whole new game or continue my present one to get this ending?
Also a note to people who say they want to see both endings (without relying to videos). You can complete the game collecting all orbs. The normal ending will be unlocked anyway in the extra section. So you don't have to finish the game two times.
"Happy" ending: El Presidente's Daughter dies...no wait, she's actually alive. Juan's victory over Calaca is celebrated in Pueblucho, where he also marries El Presidente's Daughter.
To get the good ending, you need to do five things: Chicken Maze, Forest Fly, Tree Tops, Yoku Blocks, and Battle Arena. By far, the hardest is Tree Tops. Yoku Blocks is second hardest, Battle Arena is third hardest. followed by Chicken Maze, then Forest Fly is the easiest.
At least, that's the names I call those things. Here's where they all are:
* Chicken Maze: dimension warp in a corner of Casa de Juan in the Agave Fields
* Forest Fly: activate the timed switch, quickly get above the switch cave, fly to the left, then ground pound downwards when you hit a mid-air block.
* Tree Tops: blocked by a blue block in the roots of the Tule Tree. Goat Run up the right shaft of the tree. Then do a bunch of crazy platforming challenges. Recommended that you watch the entire sequence on Youtube first, and when you're doing it, take lots of breathers. Remember that holding the grab button can let you hold onto a wall without sliding down, so you can basically stop what you're doing and take a break if needed.
* Yoku Blocks: (so called because that's what the disappearing blocks in Mega Man are called) Goat Fly across and out of one of the earlier rooms in the Sierra it has several cacti). You'll find this strange little place far to the right. Enter it. Navigate the rhythmically disappearing blocks. You may find it useful to turn off the music; remember that double-jump can allow you to stay indefinitely on one block as long as you keep jumping at the right time.
* Battle Arena: complete the rightmost column of arenas in the Caverna del Pollo.
