I finished this one in around 15 minutes. That's with a few deaths, and one glitch ending where I didn't see Ash, I just died. At first I thought that was the end, but then it reloaded back to the checkpoint. So I tried again, and then got the real ending.
The real ending didn't make any sense though.
The same as the nest and multiple aliens/eggs in the main game didn't make any sense.
Why was Ash there? Why wasn't Dallas (I played as Dallas because that's who really went into the vents to shut it off) either dead right then or strung up in a web? And what the hell was Ash talking about?
I read somewhere that it was Mother doing some kind of simulation of how the crew would handle certain situations with the alien. But if it was a simulation, why was Ask Talking to Dallas? Surely Dallas was a part of the simulation? He couldn't have been really doing that, or he would have then figured out that Ash was an enemy.
Didn't make sense to me, and wasn't that fun to play. Put me off even starting the last survivor mission, because I know that one is short; get to the self destruct panel, start sequence, you have five minutes to escape without dying.
What I don't get is does it even change the events in the movie? Because tbh I was really hoping so. I was thinking this DLC would be essentially what would happen had Dallas succeeded in the vents. But if he didn't, does that mean they all get murdered? I really wanted to see the rest of the crew survive or at least know they did. I like to think that after the DLC, They confronted Ash now knowing it was him and he gave his famous "Last word" Then thought of a new plan or something. Anyway, Its a good DLC, I just don't get it.
Why does that not make any sense? A queen laid the eggs. The initial Alien you encounter throughout the first half of the game is not the Alien that emerged from Foster.
I think, that it didn't make sense to you, because you weren't paying that much attention to the story, and, also, because you didn't (and can't) encounter the Queen (yeah, like it's a thing, that must happen if you stepped into a Hive. It's not like it's all up to the player's interpretation either)
To your knowledge, the first Alien got aboard Sevastopol ~2 weeks before the arrival of the Torrens (you). To me, even one Alien had all the time in the world to start killing, abducting people, building the Hive and just terrorizing the station.
