Is there any effective way to kill an android using only the maintenance jack?

Yes. This worked for me as well. Hit him with the stun then start swinging. It is the quiet way you are looking for.

Yeah pipe-bomb is insta kill. I killed one last night with a pistol. I shot the pos in the forehead 6 times to bring him down. They are ♥♥♥♥♥♥' tough as nails lol. I will say this, killing them from blasting their head is pretty satisfying. You see the white milky fluid come bursting out of his head, and the way it falls is ♥♥♥♥♥♥' priceless lol.

If you don't have any pipe bombs, molotovs weaken them pretty good. Just be careful not to toast your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the process. EMP nades help with them too. You can use those to disable them temporarily, and then beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of them. Too bad the xeno doesn't kill droids in this game.

Hey did anybody notice that the androids do the "Ash Dance" (when the landing party leave to investigate the beacon) Ash did in Alien?
I thought it was relly cool when I saw one do that.

and there is no where to hide in the reactor room
