Netease Chinese Spyware
Based on the provided search results, here’s a summary of the concerns surrounding NetEase and Chinese spyware:

Data Harvesting: NetEase, a Chinese internet giant, has been accused of harvesting user data, including personal information, from its games and services. This has raised concerns about potential espionage and data breaches.
Spyware Allegations: Some users have reported finding spyware-like behavior in NetEase’s games, including Once Human, which has led to accusations of intentional data collection and potential backdoors for Chinese authorities.
Tencent Connection: NetEase’s parent company, NetEase Games, has ties to Tencent, another Chinese tech giant with a history of data harvesting and alleged ties to the Chinese government. This has raised concerns about potential data sharing and surveillance.
Chinese Laws and Regulations: NetEase has cited Chinese laws and regulations as justification for collecting certain data, including government-issued IDs. However, some users argue that these laws are used as a pretext for broader surveillance.
Lack of Transparency: NetEase’s handling of user data and alleged spyware has been criticized for lacking transparency, making it difficult for users to understand what data is being collected and how it’s being used.

Tencent also owns 9% of elite dangerous... doesn't stop me playing that game, this one does that perfectly well.

Of course, nobody complains about the US government spying on you through any means it deems legal... including software, some of which may very well include the operating system you are using.

Convince me there are no "hand shaking" going on.

I still recall the president himself calling out Apple as "unpatriotic" just because they refused to unlock an iPhone because Apple values the privacy of their customers. Especially when that customer hasn't been tried in court yet.

But if you defy the US government with moral values.. then that's what you sometimes get.
