Reward for animal taming

I don't get the idea. So you need to craft a syringe to catch animals, then you need to spend time and lots of ressources to get...one resource! So for example I needed to feed my crocodiles meat for one week to get one egg and I don't even have a recipe to cook it!
The flamingo gives nothing, although following the discription, it should give feathers, which are actually useless in the game. Oh and by the way, animals are not transferred to the new season!
So I ask the devs: what's the idea behind it all? What's the point?

the idea is to distract players from the real issue by giving them something totally useless to do

its there if you like to do it, it can be ignored if you dont like many other systems in the game. I did breed a rare skin that was white with green runes on a leapord that someone then bought from me for a stupid amount of fuel acid and stardust so i guess it does have its uses

breed them for pristine meat to get the best food buffs.

The point is the prime foods are needed to be an elite elitist.. in pvp. A few more hps can make all the difference in 1v1 pvp. Not so much in 10 v 1 tho.. Prime Foods give big health boosts. Could also be useful for solo boss and lea runs I guess.

Then I can't help ask why some players always believe that there has to be a point or a reason to (do) things? How about... well, having fun?

There's barely any reason to spent time on Eternaland, yet that's exactly what I'm doing from time to time... for no other reason than having some fun and doing a bit of "creative" building.

One could also argue that keeping the cosmic cat and the cookosaurus around is more annoying than anything else because they more than often get in your way, push you around and what not. Yet I still keep 'm around because... why not?
