Why is the gender option is labeled "Type 1" and "Type 2"

There's this weird trend of games slowly and surely of avoiding words like "gender" and "sex". Even pokemon seems to avoid this label all together. But anyways, why is the character creation label the genders "Type 1 and Type 2" even though we can clearly see that it's a male and female body just by the proportions alone. What's the point of labeling "Type whatever" when we can easily tell it's a male and female? Why not just say "Male and Female"? I'm just simply asking.

You don't even know who I am, how I identify, or what crowd I typically associate with. Fun fact - there are trans people who disagree with your stance on transgenderism. Just because we share different opinions doesn't mean I'm anti LGBT, nor does it mean I'm not left leaning. I think you should probably touch some grass, maybe lose some weight in the process.
