okay but are you 17 hours in, while having done all of it?
if you dont like it this game aint for you, simple as that chief.
No he asked a question, and asked if all he could do now was wait, which it isnt as there are so many things to do in the game.
"a lot of us"
You guys are literally the reason time gating exists.
Think of it as the "Touch-Grass Timer." It's the Devs nice way of saying "Listen, bro, I love you and all but..."
Second, there's a ton to do in just the first Phase. There are puzzles and what not around the initial map that will unlock attachments for your guns. Do you have all of the Deviants you can capture in that part of the map?
Third, side quests. Have you done all available in the map?
Fourth, base building. You're going to need a defensible base for Filter defense.
Finally, stockpiling. There are materials you will need multiple stacks of 1,000 for later down the road. Best to collect as much as possible now to save you from having to grind for them later when you really need them. Acid being one and the main item you'll need a mega butt ton for crafting. Gravel would be another nice investment for the glass you'll need, as well as building with gravel later or using it for bricks for later building tech.
17 hours is not even close to being done. I put far more in before I had swept the map clear and farmed my heart out while building up my base as I waited for Phase 2.
Right? It's astounding when people like OP just tear through the main quests, barely squeaking by (even on teams) due to being underpowered, and then complain that there's "nothing left to do" while I'm meticulously tearing the map apart, not even half done with the main story, doing sides, gathering resources, calibrating weapons and armor, and taking down bosses solo with no damage taken because I took my time to understand how the game works.
Timegating the content is most definitely the devs way of saying "Slow TF down, Speedy. There's more to it than just speedrunning the main story."
Time gating is to give the rest of the server a chance to keep up. If we let the no lifers have full access, they'd be selling endgame stuff before casuals even hit lvl 10. Time gating is also a way to prevent players from thinking they NEED to no life a game. Play casually and you'll get all the stuff a hardcore guy gets by the end. It'll just take you the full six weeks to do what they did in two.
This is also why blueprints are locked behind seasonal rewards. To make it so hardcore grinders CANNOT max farm their blueprints in a few days and become massively more powerful than anyone has a hope of becoming in the next season. Even a slow player can get all the starchrom they need to earn their BP frags.
You can grind for Energy Links to purchase Starchrom during Phase 6. You can also farm building blueprints (chairs, tables, etc).
