I am not saying that bullying is ok but on international servers, we should just use english.
Europe has far too many languages for everyone to use world chat in their own language, that would be chaotic as hell.
the comments on the division that you point out are a perfect example of that chaos, people who get annoyed at it are not by definition racist, some might be but most will just be annoyed and take it way too far.
When you see in division, stop bing bong language, its not racist for you ?
When ppl asking for muting only asian language is not racist or xenophobe ?
On international server ppl speaking their native language and not only english .
When dev tells us ,world chat is only english ,yep no problem .
But german speak german . French speak french and english speak english ,where do you see chaos . Because a minority dont understand what their writting . Google translate. Not all ppl speak clearly english . It's more easy to speaking native. This game as technique ingame thing . How explain that in other language when ppl have problem to understand all in their native .
okay American lmfao
A lot of people focus on text when it appears and too many different languages can make you lose focus because it takes longer to process something you do not understand.
If you can not block out scrolling text, it becomes very annoying after a while.
Enforcing English only should not be a rule, not ever, but meeting each other half way in an international public chat is polite and considerate.
speaking your native language for anything other than match making or a short shout out/ discussion is just plain rude.
Take your banter to discord or team chat and leave everyone else alone if you don't want anyone but your own people to understand you.
If you want to blame people being rude on racism, you can but you will be wrong more often than not.
They are well within their rights to do so. It's a EUROPEAN Server, not a British/UK English server. European languages are fine - the word EUROPEAN is a pretty big clue. Head back into Internet oblivion where you belong, mate. You'd be doing the whole community a favour.
It's only a problem if you're on a team and they're addressing you directly without considering the fact that you don't speak their language.
Getting worked up over seeing messages in global chat in different languages is asinine.
I want to explain it to you as simply as possible:
For me it is no problem to have a conversation in English... in spoken and written form.
Now I'm German... and even though it might be hard for you to believe, my friends are mostly German too. And why should I chat with my German friends in English as a German? Please don't answer, it's a rhetorical question.
But now it gets even better! I am now of a more mature age and my wife grew up in the former East Germany. She never had English lessons at school and US soldiers were rather out of place there. Ergo, she doesn't speak English and doesn't want to. But she also plays with me.
I think, and this is my personal opinion, the problem is that every single one of you thinks you are the sun. So the center of the universe.
And that's exactly where we have to start. YOU are just a tiny cog in this world. And every other cog has its own thoughts, opinions and problems. Nobody says you have to like everything! Just accept that others are different......that would be a start.
The in-game chat rules boil down to common sense: no spamming, no disrespect, no hate speech, and similar behaviors.
If you encounter any of these issues, please report them. Keep in mind that many servers host a diverse community with people from all over the world.
For example, my server has players from Russia, Germany, the Netherlands, the USA, and Sweden.
what i said is pretty clear, it is cosiderate and polite to use the language that is used the most on international servers.
People who don't know english obviously can't and that should be ok but for everyone that can, that little cog you speak of aplies too.
respect is a multiplayer game and meeting each other half way is not too much to ask.
that is far from a self centered view as you imply.
people being rude because of a language is against the rules but even more, it is rather dumb but that does not mean we should turn any public online chat into a chaotic mess of languages.
like i said, scrolling text is hard to ignore for a lot of people and for those people a chaotic multi language chat can be very intrusive, what are they supposed to do then, just block all chat and never talk to anyone?
either way, i am done with this conversation since a lot of responses twist my words and ignore half of what i said.
I can't have a discussion with anyone that way.
have a lovely day!
Make Channels for different grps or add the option to have a "World" Chat for english only or other languages only and be able to mute those that you dont want to see
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
being honest as EU servers are always a mess in any game with chat as one said everyone thinks he is the sun and he should speak through WORLD CHAT in his language with his people why not ( no clue if the game has it ) have a Party or Guild Chat tab for those of your language to speak in your prefered language it makes no sense and is always a freaking mess when it comes to world chat instead of speaking in the usual english language most people should do in world chat i dont want to read 20 different chinese ordering lists for their midday snack either since ppl speak in languages that cant even be read on an EU Server.
not everyone speaks english and just cos english is widely known doesnt mean its the defacto language that should be spoken / typed, if you are on a region where english is not the primary most spoken language why should it be the norm. thats like an american going to china and saying speak english cos i cant understand you.
just think about how any oce player feels being forced to play this on south east asia servers. unless you get lucky and have picked one of the ones where there are bunch of oce people on them then the chats 90% not in english.
i dont complain that i cant understand the chat 90% of the time i complain that we dont get our own region or servers
