Suspicious Start-up apps installed along with the game?
Despite the negative comments, I played this game for a few hours. I noticed there are 2 new unknown/suspiciously named files added in the startup after installing this game.

One of it is named "1" and has no file location or installation directory. Another is named "70304357-ecb1-4a82-9a89-0372ea2602c0 70304357-ecb1-4a82-9a89-0372ea2602c0" which again has no file location or installation directory.

Seems very suspicious to me, anyone have any idea about what these scripts are doing?

Edit: They are not apps but Registry keys, so not really sus after-all. There are open-source powershell scripts on Github that monitor and clear such entries made by Once Human. For safety, I won't send any links, you can easily find them yourselves.

I admit that they are strange. However, you can disable BOTH files in startup and they will not re-enable themselves. I have tested it.

Yes, we know what they are and what they do.. it's been discussed/flogged to death already.
Who in gods green earth is sitting there watching EVERY SINGLE thing their PC does though?? I thought we were here to play games not be high level system analysts watching every single process like a paranoid 90's h8k3r reject... I get security and all that but that just seems a little.. overkill...

Its not about watching EVERY SINGLE thing PC does, its just the random naming of it the way with no icons or info or any details about it, making it seem suspicious. What if its a malware or an actual virus and nothing related to the game? Just give it a name and publish some details about why its needed, especially since its starting up on PC boot and not while the game is running only.

I mean its a free game, so not complaining, just curious if anyone had some info about it.

First off they arent programs... they are registry entries that are registered as start-up apps.. why they did this I can't answer that. But if you inspect the registry entry one is a UUID (which is a unique identifier for a program.... just a randomly generated string) the other is literally a counter that increments when you launch the game, you can easily delete both. The counter will come back and you can see it increment +1 each time the game is launched.
TLDR: they aren't programs, they are registry static value entries... and are definitely not maleware/spyware.
use search function

Fair enough..
It's just getting a little suspicious having it brought up over and over again with pretty much the same wording of the thread header and content, especially now that it's been answered many times. feels a little, organised.

I 100% fully agree. I know people will call bs on this but I exactly understand what you mean and agree and I can think of at least 5 other people who have experienced this too. I'm sure they'll show up sooner or later

IMPORTANT
On my laptop, I found some things (you should also check):
- Once Human installed those two things to start on boot;
- they are still there even after uninstalling the game;
- all restore points saved prior to Once Human installation are gone (even with enough space allocated for many others)

Ik it ain't a malware and tbh i never knew it was there until i started to feel my pc being choppy and slow , i wasn't able to stream properly and then i saw these 2 reg entries over there, i wasn't sure what made them and scanned my pc with malwarebytes but nothing was found, then i opened Ccleaner and it gave me its details and i removed it!
Just after removing my pc started working fine, so i don’t know whether it is sus or not but for me my pc performance was f***ed!

you can't delete it and play the game. i deleted it and it came right back when i started the game.

I'm afraid that's just your superstitions and the placebo effect. The processes aren't even programs, they're more like counters. The number is the number of times you launch the game and the long string is your device identifier. These are from a company that deals with mobile data and seem to have been mistakenly applied to the PC version. They do nothing, can be safely disabled without affecting the game, and are yours to remove as you wish.

Best bet is to wrap your computer in tinfoil. This is the ONLY way
