Once Human

Once Human

2 new start-up programs?
Any reason for 2 start-up programs to be installed after installing Once Human?
their names arent bring my worries up and not having a file location does seem fishy.

Any tech-heads know what these are?

so how do we remove these? The game is deleted for now but there's no immediately obvious way to remove these 2 startup programs.

If you want to get rid of the two startup files, open registry and paste "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run" then delete both AF_counter and AF_uuid. That should get rid of the two startup files that came with the game.

I'm seeing a lot of concerns and new threads popping up about the recent registry entries being created. These entries track how often we execute the game and send information back to AppFlyers. This isn't something I initiated, but user "Hypertoken" has shared valuable insights and proposed solutions regarding these potential intrusions. Given past issues, it’s wise to be cautious about anything coming from China.

Following his guidance can help mitigate the risks of data collection. For anyone looking for more information, I found this URL quite educational and have been experimenting with the controls and software behaviour in a development environment:

My comment was based on discovery as you can appreciate people repeat others comment without looking it up - Agree that AppFlyer is US based and so is Starry Studio's however:

Starry Studios is a subsidiary of NetEase. They focus on creating high-quality content, including films and television projects, often collaborating with various talents in the industry.

And to include:

NetEase is a major Chinese technology company known for its online services and products, including

* Gaming: One of the largest game developers in China, known for titles like "Fantasy
Westward Journey" and partnerships with Blizzard for games like "World of Warcraft."
* E-commerce: Operates various platforms for online shopping and services.
* Music Streaming: Offers a popular music streaming service, NetEase Cloud Music.
* Education: Provides online education and learning platforms.
* NetEase is recognised for its innovation and significant influence in the Chinese internet and gaming industries.

Happy to be corrected as I'm not here to prove any point - just making sure we all have the correct information.

AppsFlyer empowers gaming marketers to make better decisions by providing powerful tools that solve real pain point s, including cross-platform attribution, mobile and web analytics, deep linking, fraud detection, privacy management and preservation, and more.

Game attribution requires the game to communicate with AppsFlyer APIs over HTTPS and report user activities like first opens, consecutive sessions, and in-app events. For example, purchase events.
We recommend you use this sample app as a reference for integrating the code that reports user activities in your C++.

It's a tool to monitor and direct analytics from player base. Used to direct advertise or mkt plan strategically, review player behavior, train AI,...

I'm just sharing what I found during my research on that company; it’s not coming from me personally. I simply pasted the information found during my discovery.

If I hadn’t posted the exact wording and simplified it, I’d probably be accused of selective quoting!

As I mentioned before, "Be wise and cautious about anything involving or coming from China."

Also, keep in mind that when you install the program, you grant full admin rights to your OS without needing any future prompts for changes or additional software.

The base IQ of comments lowers the more notifications i get. Time to unsubscribe from this topic.
And for yall to know: you already give Microsoft, Google, Microsoft, Meta and a lot more corpos ALL your sensible infos, NOT things about this game, but important stuff.

so? the programme that is being launched is a US programme.
You all are overreacting, one is for your user ID and the other is for the number of times the program has been run.
