you left click as his hand slaps down as if you were playing rock paper scissors (aka ro sham bo)

scissors

im having issues with the timing. should i just listen to the slapping sound and click then just the watching the hand slap down?

Hit the button at the same time the hands come together. The keystroke should coincide with the sound of the hands slapping.
