Doesn't look like they'll be just giving them away like they did on the 15th anniversary, I haven't seen anything about a sale yet, but it's usually later thursdays when sales are posted so we'll have to wait and see

No, they aren't doing any Special Sales.

The Corsairs of Umbar Expansion will in May become available for the LOTRO Store, so that's pretty much it.

Yep its the reason i never come back to this game. All mmorpgs but this and DDO do this, and if you want to get everything its like 300 plus, vs say ESO where you just buy the newest expansion and you are all set. Its just one of the many reasons this game will never have as many people playing it as the rest. Not many are gonna look at this, ESO, WOW, and FF14 and go hmm 300 plus to get evertyhing and a sub for LOTRO, or 39 bucks and a sub, or just a sub for wow classic, or 59 for ff14 and go yep 300 plus for LOTRO thats what I want to do. I am also going to assume this game is just like DDO, which not only do you have to buy all the expansions, they sell cash shop only power items which no other major mmorpg does. I don't mean like a level up item, or a character that starts at a higher level, i mean legit power to your character that you can only get from the cash shop. In DDO it is power tomes to raise your stats, im sure this has a equivalent of some kind.

Stat tomes exist, but their effect is negligible, and I think you can get them randomly from some instance rewards.
