LOTRO Client and Steam
Hello
I usually play the game through the "normal" client. I have all the expansions but Gundabad and the new one. If i install on Steam can i then log in with the same account and then have acces to all my expansions ? or is it like a whole new account ?

LOTRO's Standalone Client or the Steam Version are the same and you can use your Account with either one. Steam doesn't affect much beyond that it's an extra step to starting LOTRO and that when using LOTRO through Steam the LOTRO Store will only be able to open a Web Browser Version of the Store.

For whatever reason Steam has always given a good amount of folks issues running LOTRO, so usually the advice is not to use Steam's Download Version of LOTRO. You can add Non-Steam Games to Steam so even if using the Standalone Client of LOTRO, Steam could still launch it and be able to use the Steam Overlay for chatting with Friends and so on.

All steam is, is an extra step to get to the 'normal' client.

Thank you all 😁
Well done.

Why couldn't Neverwinter do this?
There seems to be some difficulty in getting the steam version to fully install on windows. Whereas the standalone lotro client works with no problems. That has been my experience so far.

The Steam client is not as up to date as the download from the official site. Don't know why, but it's always been that way. The best way to download, with the fewest problems, is from the official site.
