Logitech Controller fix! (Windows 7 64-bit)
For those that have a Logitech Gaming controller where the inputs in the config are analog, and you can't input anything at all... Here may be a fix for that problem.

NOTE: THE CONTROLLER USED FOR THIS WAS A LOGITECH F510 WITH A DIGITAL INPUT/XINPUT SWITCH!

Uninstall the drivers for the logitech controller, unplug the controller and restart the computer.

After the computer has restarted, go ahead and reinstall the software from logitech's site http://www.logitech.com/en-sg/support, but don't run it just yet because you need another set of drivers.

That's right... Another set of drivers...

Get these drivers from microsoft here: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/xbox-360-controller-for-windows, don't run these either.

Now run the logitech driver software, and wait for it to tell you to plug the controller in.

BEFORE YOU PLUG IT IN MAKE SURE IT'S SWITCHED TO "X" (XINPUT MODE)!

Plug the controller in and continue so that it can recognize the controller. Now if you get to a screen and it can't find the controller, wait for windows to install the driver. It should say it's installing the Logitech driver, but will quickly change to a USB input driver, you want this to happen.

If it still doesn't pop up then take out the controller and then plug it back in... it should work by this time.

It'll tell you the controller is in XInput mode and after you select it and continue it'll skip the testing phase, don't worry about this. The controller is being read at this point, and we need that much. ^_^

From here you want to let the program try to run the Logitech Profiler. It'll you the controller is in XInput mode, and will need to be taken out of it.

Take that switch on your controller and switch to "D" (Digital Input). Then click retry. Now if it gives you the same error (which it did for me) click retry again until it goes into the profile/config window. When it gets to that window, test all the buttons. The only one's that WON'T REGISTER are the analog axis on both sticks, the Vibration button, and the mode button.

Once all the other buttons are recognized, close the profiler window, but leave it running in the background.

Now... if you run ASRT config the mouse will still be wonky, this is normal. Switch it to "X" (XInput) and it'll still do the same thing. This is where the fix comes in.

Switch the controller back to "D" (Digital Input), and try your best to close ASRT config (Because we all hate that damn mouse pointer by now :P ).

Run the Microsft Xbox 360 driver set you downloaded from the link above. Keep in mind that you want to leave the controller in the computer!

Once the install has finished... Switch the controller input to "X" (XInput). Windows should now detect that a new device is connected to the computer, and will install this device. This is actually the Microsoft Xbox 360 driver being used for the XInput.

Once it has installed DO NOT SWITCH BACK TO "D" (Digital Input).

Run ASRT...

If everything has gone as planned... you should no longer have to chase the mouse around the screen trying to click on whatever it is you were wanting to click on.

If you go to the controls, you should now be able to select a controller, though it WILL NOT say logitech in XInput mode. After you have selected this controller you should be able to "Redefine" the controls, and have full ability to place your inputs.

Good luck racing, and I hope you can now enjoy playing as Sonic and his many other friends/enemies!

I will try that. But seriously, the controller problems on the old sega racing were well known. It's a real disappointment that Sega didn't bother to deliver a proper port this time around.

Edit: Both my Logitech gamepads don't have Xinput mode. Is there any way to get them to work anyway?

Edit2: The x360ce executable does the job.

To unistall your drivers you MUST have the controller plugged in.

Click on Start, and then right click on computer, then click on properties.

From there on the left side bar click Device Manager, and then on Human Interface devices.

You should at this point see the Logitech Virual HID Device, and The USB Gamepad in there. Unistall each one, but don't restart until you have unistalled all of them. Keep in mind that the gamepad must still be plugged in at this point.

Once you've uninstalled all of them take out the gamepad before it can install the drivers and restart the computer.
