Unable to put away weapons/tools

Playing this game for most of the afternoon and everything was running fine.

Left for a bit, the game updated, I went back on just now and all of a sudden I can't 'holster' anything I equip from my hotbar, including MM. Restarting the game does nothing, going back to my ship and beaming down to the planet again does nothing either.

Quick edit: Pressing Z to 'deselect hands'(?) is working, I'm referring to being able to press the hotkey something is assigned to a second time to unequip it.

Me and my friend are experiencing the same issue.
Pulling out whatever you have in slot 1, then pressing 1 again should put it away. Same for all the hotbar items, and tools. I can't tell if this was something that was "fixed", so it's a single hotkey or not, but I'm too used to having it be the same key that was pressed for the item.
