There's a "spider" boss, but it only has four limbs, its body isn't very spiderlike and the webs are more akin to drippy ropes of slime.
As far as regular enemies go, you should be safe. The closest things to a spider in that group look like a 4 legged robot with a conical tin hat, and a crab with a shadowed face and spiky shell.

I seriously appreciate the quick and thorough response, you just created a new Starbound player lol. Terraria's spiders trigger my arachnophobia so I just wanted to be prepared before I find my heart going into shock playing this game. Thanks again!

Just don't download FU since there is a spider monster in that which does shoot webs at you and such.

Yeah, the only vanilla spider-like monsters that I'm aware of are Ixodooms[starbounder.org] and Ixolings[starbounder.org], both of which only show up in one of the main story missions & never again.

You should stay away from Frackin' Universe, though, since it features a lot of creepy spider-like monsters that have a chance of appearing on any planet.

I can identify with you to a degree, I also have arachnophobia and have been triggered by games in the past.

Although it's a strange thing, can be rather hit and miss for me...Ark Survival Evolved's spiders aren't really an issue for me despite them being very realistic, whereas Minecraft's blocky, cubic spiders send shivers down my spine. I think more than the appearance of the creature, the way it moves is the bigger issue in my case. The ones in Satisfactory are probably the worst imo...saw one twitch clip of those things and it officially put me off the game for good, they're the stuff of nightmares!

Thankfully though, I haven't found anything in this game which sets me off. Not to say there's nothing that will affect anyone, because everybody is different and can be affected by different things. But this one is less likely to have such issues as far as I can see.

Yeah I can confirm, stay the heck away from the Frackin Universe mod if you don't want a heart attack.

I have arachnophobia myself, and the first time I went to a lightless planet in that mod and saw one of FU's massive spiders, I nearly had a heart attack.

Mind you, I don't think my arachnophobia is as severe as yours, like Terraria's spiders don't spook me too much, heck I could even handle skyrim's spiders fine, but FU's spiders absolutely terrify me.

The fact that it exists only brings my heart pain.

That there are any unique enemies, or that there are so few unique enemies? I preferred when it was just procedural enemies personally. That list is fairly useless in any case since there are millions of combinations of procedural enemies, but spider legs aren't a part they can have so it doesn't matter in the context of this thread.

Well, there is a set of legs that kinda look a little like a spider on the proceedurals...they only have four legs not eight, but the legs are very thin and go up from the body to a joint, then down to the floor.
