But no, even after all the love the novakids got the devs still aren't deciding to add some new content relating to the novakids. Is it really too much to ask for them to make a few new settlements or something? I can understand how a whole story mission would be really difficult at this time since, yknow, the games out and all and they're tied up with 10 million other projects, but its not a whole mountain of work to implement a few settlements.
In short, the devs want to focus on different things rather then what consumers really want. They're not bad devs, just uh, unexperienced. Again, not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on devs here, they made a great game and helped make another (Stardew Valley) but im simply pointing out the flaws they clearly have.
if anything, Novakid should have a questline, too. You don't really see novakid settlements or anything anyways.
It's that, or someone should mod the game a little and make it to where Novakids get a quest line, because right now it feels like a lot is missing from the main storyline. (Seriously. One entire species is missing and uninvolved.)
They were both community suggestions. The novakid were aesthetically inspired by the anodynes, but were (as I understand) more popular with the fans and the devs for whatever reason. So when the preorder came up, it was the novakid slated as a backer reward.
I believe originally the novakid implemented were also supposed to have some anodyne influence, at least according to the creator of the anodynes later.

Chucklefish has spent the entire span of Starbound's public development knowing that the novakid would be added to the game. The fact that they were added late is no excuse; they were added in the same update that the story was drastically overhauled.
Ultimately the current implementation of the novakid is Chucklefish's own doing. I am not sure why they didn't decide to do more with them--perhaps they did not find them interesting.
It's kind of funny that the race that was chosen is the one with lore that lets them be conveniently written out of the bigger picture, but I digress. That lore is hardly in the game. The novakid don't even have basic lore--one codex, a collection of examine texts, and some vague line from god is all they've got.
Or, they're spread in different directions BY the community. You can't say they're ignoring consumers when many of the things they've released are what many [did] want. Their only fault is how incompetent they they are when they approach things.
So instead of a storyline quest (probably), They're putting a main Novakid NPC that'll have bounty hunting quests involved?
Part of me was hoping the novakid race was going to get it's own storyline quest though. A little sad they get a smaller job than the others. ;-;
[If[ what Peaches is saying is true, then at least Novakids would get more interactive gameplay than the other races.
