from what i can remember, something that was in one of the older versions.
progression was divided into sectors, and iirc, sector X was the final and most dififcult sector.
more educated/older players pls correct me; i didnt play the game much back then and i havent checked the wiki for a while

In early early beta, the progression was divided into sectors. You started in Sector Alpha which had tier 1 planets, progressed to Beta, Gamma and Delta via bossfights, and then finally unlocked Sector X, which held planets tier 5-10.
This system was abandoned with the implementation of leveled star systems, alongside starting the game on Lush planets.
