Really? how? Using a mod?
Thanks :)
Basically this makes Key2joy or Xpadder pretty useless, now that steam does it natively. You just need to be in Big Picture mode. Also this is going to solve every game that doesnt have controller support for you if you have problems using a mouse.
Wow that is awesome!
Sorry for engrish.
Thanks for the tip.
Glad I got Steam Controller more than a year ago. I'm basically playing every single game through steam driver, including FPS, even non-steam games, even browser ones!
Already got SC to have every single key binded in Starbound.
Try to shoot rifle or manage inventory in SB with Xbox Controller and then join my Steam stream to see how it's done with Steam Controller to see what I'm talking about. :)
You can get that precision now on PS4 and Xbox controllers now that they act exactly like a Steam controller, enabled by going into steam big picture mode, I will agree with you that Steam Controllers were better in that aspect, but now with the actual drivers in place for the other controllers to act like a Steam controller, You can get waaaay better performance then Xpadder etc. Basically if you like your PS4/Xbox controller better, give it a try now, you'll be surprised to find they match a Steam controllers input methods perfectly.
It's a matter of hardware actually. You can't get the same precision with joystick compared to touchpad whatever driver you're using. I don't own DS4 (PS4) controller, it has touchpad, so maybe it's slightly better than other controllers but it's touchpad position (in the middle) isn't good for intensive use and can cause some hands strain, I suppose. XB controller still stands way out of league.
Another thing, that Steam Configurator still missing some really good features that XPadder has (should I name it? But believe me), but in other hand it has it's uniques. IMO, the latest XPadder version is better and WAY MORE stable but it costs $, so if you don't own it - stick to free steam drivers :) .
Do you have Steam Controller? I assure you that any of those controllers can't match magnetic dualstage triggers and 2 SC's touchpads.
Steam Configurator emulates dual stage triggers but it's (still?) faulty, you can test it yourself.
