Can't save more than once

I just started playing and noticed that I can't save the game more than once per level.

The saves appear properly and can indeed be loaded, but after you save the game once while playing the level, you can't do so again until you finish it.

The "save game" button becomes greyed out and can't be clicked.

The issue persists for both the original save file (starting one, immediately after saving too) and the ones that are created as checkpoints.

Has anyone encountered this issue and found a way to fix it? Or is it a normal feature of the game?

the devs purposely made it so you can only save 2 times per mission. If its greyed out that means you dont have any saves left.

Which is the reason i have been playing on easy mode for the conflict series (considering the difficulty comes from stupid things like your player character not having his weapon lifted, or your teammate shooting a grenade at the wall)

ive been playing through all the conflict games on easy (and i almost died in real life trying to beat vietnam on easy that ish was HARD)

but i did beat conflict global terror on medium because i was starting to get better at the game.

im playing conflict desert storm on easy tho cuz i figured the graphics wouldnt stimulate me after playing vietnam and global terror first, and i didnt want to have to bother with saving and reloading all the time (we still die all the time lmao)

this game series is like frantic, the devs always send enemies at you. You need to clear rooms so they stop spawning in there (yes this is true it took me dozens of hours of gameplay to realize)
