What is the Best Defense Against Magic from DLC

Hey Guys,
Was just wondering what tactics peeps here used when facing mages equipped with the Magic found in the Artorias DLC portion of the game.
Get whopped everytime I face a mage. Using Logans Hat+5, with Logans coat+5, Crest Shield +5 and keeping under 25% weight to dodge.
Any tips would be appreciated.
Currently lvl 79 Faith Build!

Rolling. Seriously if you just roll with good timing you can dodge all of them even pursuers.

Cheers for that. I found that whilst I am trying to roll & dodge, I am then being hit with crystal spear or some other direct magic. WIll keep trying but frustating.
A little too powerful imho and pain to deal with lol ;-)

Great magic barrier miracle will sort you out, it's over in ash lake :3

The abyss magics do a mix of physical and magical so if you pop on GMB then use a shield with 100% physical block you will laugh as it does next to no damage.

GMB is alright but Zorton. Take this from experience. I faced off against someone using Abyss magic. I casted GMB and he stun-locked me with Dark Bead and I died. (This was before I knew about switching out.)
So do know GMB helps but Vow of Silence helps also alot.

Theres always the silver pendant, and the dark wood grain ring will give you more invulnerability frames from your fast rolls.

Parry the spells, it'll work! *no it won't* Also pendant and Emit Force... octuply so since you are "faith build"

Silver pendant is no good against Pursuers since it only holds them back, not dispel them. While you're occupied w/ the Pursuers the mage can bs or CSS you.

i prefer just using invisible body so dark chaser magic never fires off.

this lets you take the fight to the mages right away as long as you're dodging the basic crystal spear type magic

Actually invisibility is useful against melee builds too: people who rely on lock-on to fight. That's why my mage always slots hidden body.
