Return to undead asylum problem

This is weird, I'm on the grassy bank and trying to jump/roll over to the buttress to go up to the rooks nest. I've done the jump before but now even after over 30 attempts just can not make it, I always fall short of the buttress. My son, who's an experiences Xbox gamer, has tried too and can't do it, any ideas? I've tried unloading but no difference.

Are you using the fps unlock? That can make it so you can't make certain jumps.

Try rolling as soon at the edge and then when you do land, hold forward just in case. If that doesn't work, then I don't know if I can help you. Btw, I've got fps unlock and still managed to do it, also, I had Ornstein's armour on, which was quite heavy but my load was less than 75%. It might be due to heavy armour. If that's the case then just take off your armour. And don't wear the Dark Wood Grain Ring. Or was it the East one?

Yes I do have the FPS fix but I had that before when I made the jump 2 or 3 times with no problem. Thanks for the Youtube link, yes thats exactly where I'm rolling from. Just tried roaming around for half an hour and coming back to it, exiting the game and back in but still the same thing, alway fall just short of landing on the buttress, think this might be a bug?

Thanks ARF, you a true genius. Went into my Dsfix.ini and changed unlockFPS from 1 to 0 and hey presto, first attempt and I land easily on the buttress. Once again big thanks ARF.

You don't need to jump, just rolling will do fine, even with the fps unlock (I have it on all the time except for the one problematic ladder, and I've been back to the Asylum like 7 times already). You might need to be fast rolling, though.

Also, you don't need to deactivate the framerate unlock in the .ini, there is a key to toggle it on and off in-game, I think it defaults to Backspace.

What part are you on? Have you actually unlocked the elevator? Ehm, you have to unlock if via the church in Undead Burg where the blacksmith is. If you go past the altar, where the Black Knight is, then you'll see the elevator. Just use it there for the first time and it should unlock.

Is this true? I was trying to do the dukes archives shortcut, but couldnt make the roll. Could this be causing it?

DAMN, thank you! The fps unlock was the problem for me as well! Backspace seems to toggle it, thanks for that as well! :)

I thought I was the only one who found this to be a problem. I rolled naked. And rolled and rolled and rolled. Finally I had to jump, which is much more difficult, but at least I made it. I made that roll easily before with my armor on. Now, not so much.

Thanks, I am experiencing the same problem and the backspace advice is very useful. :)

I haven't had any issues in that spot with my FPS unlocked. I've only rolled across every time though, I don't think I ever bothered to try jumping it.
