Heavy armor early on
I'd like to find/buy some heavy armor. I've beaten gargoyles. Is there any I can get now or soon? I currently have chain armor, but I'm looking for something more.

and yes I know it's bad

its not bad, if you dont mind fat rolling. if you can get 20000 souls you can buy the crest of artorias from andre then run like hell through the forest hunter area till you get to a building then cross the bridge and on the otherside look under the bridge. this will net you the stone set.

Balder Knights drop a set as well, though it may be a tad rare. By the time they drop it, you'd be able to afford the crest. However, armor isn't going to make a significant difference if you're letting yourself get hit. You should really use light armor to dodge instead, or at least a nice shield.

I have 5 characters. I want at least one to use heavier armors, so I'm doing it on my STR/Faith character, even if that's a super tight stat distribution (don't care about PvP for this char)

Elite Knight set is on a corpse in the forest just before the Moonlight butterfly.

Other than that the only heavier ones I think of would be Black Iron from Tarkus' corpse in Anor Londo by the Painted Guardians, Giants armor from the blacksmith in Anor and Havel's armor behind the illusionary wall in Anor Londo past Solaire's bonfire.

I think the regular knight set is by the hydra.

You can find the elite knight set in the forest, it's pretty decent, and quite easy to acquire.

The stone and eastern set is in the forest (pvp hot zone) both are really good I prefer the stone set until I can get the black iron set in anor londo personally.

The Guardian Set is pretty boss too. It's an older version of the Stone set located scattered throughout the Royal Forest before you fight Artorias.

idk how can some1 use heavy armor to get fat roll, roll and dodge attacks give you more eHP over all and defs from heavy armors are just bad even from havel your main def will come from humanity and levels , some medium armors are even better with +10 than havel or gigant sets ^^

any way hp > def

Your own opinion, you may like to jump and dance around like a fairy while others like to have big heavy strong armour. Also impossiable for something in a lower class to be better then something in the higher class. Even upgraded I have yet to find any medium armour that out classes heavy armour. Now they do come close but that is a diffrent story. Besides the op wants to know where the earliest set of heavy armour is not whether heavy is better or worse then others.

But armor is almost completely useless anyways. I can have full upgraded havels armor and take a hit and get lets say 500 out of 1000 if i went naked and took the same hit i would take like 600. So its better to dodge anyways and fast rolling gives you invincibility frames. Heavy armor looks sweet but it serves no purpose. Fashion Souls. Its almost as useless as resistance

That doesn't change the fact that the op wants to know where to find heavy armour early in the game telling them "heavy armour sucks" doesn't help the op in any way what so ever.

not true there were times that the extra defense has saved me and poise is really nice. and your math is slightly off and your not considering other defenses, that while naked you really start to notice. and lastly lol unless cheating you cant have fully upgraded havels.
