If you bring the Lordvessel to Frampt, he will continue to serve as a way to 'sell' items but Kaathe in The Abyss will disappear for the rest of the game.
if you bring the Lordvessel to Kaathe, Frampt will disappear from the game but Kaathe will let you join The Dark Wraith Covenant after beating the New Londo Ruins boss.

The serpants have no effect on the ending. The ending you get is determined by whether or not you kindle the last bonfire in the game. Each serpent will permantly leave if you place the lord vessel while the other is with you. You can quite easily use both serpants services but eventually you're going to need to place the lord vessel and one will leave.
As for grinding for souls or feeding them to Kingseeker Frampt- grinding is always going to be more effecient due to the low amounts Frampt will give you for your items. The Painted World Of Ariamis is the best place to grind for souls.
Kaathe and Chosen Undead, BFF 4lyfe.
Literally the only broadly useful function Frampt has is titanite splitting.
Souls at some point lose value though. Especially if you pvp.
You get millions of souls per pvp session, i see no point in keeping with Frampt if you can get souls much faster by just pvping or simply grinding them in PvE.
The serpent ring that boosts soul gain helps tremendously if you plan on doing the latter.
If you want to get rid of items faster, just drop them all and then rest on a bonfire. I find it a hassle to navigate the menu and then feed it to him, got to go through several checks before even selling it.
Titanite splitting isn't something i've personally used, so i guess that could come useful to more resourceful people.
I'd say stick with kaathe, even if you don't stick to darkwraith, you can always re-enter the covenant to purchase cracked orbs. Really useful if you plan on being in another covenant.
So yeah, more like this. Kaathe for PvP, is way more helpful, and Frampt for PvE.
