What should i do before killing Gwyn, lord of cinder?

So i've killed all the lords, and the only one left is Gwyn. Any advice of what should i do before i kill him? Should i light up all the bonfires? Should i enter all covenants possible and level up my rank? What should i do guys?

Kindled bonfires persist in the next playthrough. You may also want to kill npcs that drop loot, if you like collecting things. You don't need to enter covenants, you lose half your offerings if you leave, but it may be a good idea to get any rewards you don't yet have before making the enemies harder.

Once you're ready for Gwyn, KILL ALL THE NPCS! Ok, that might get you sin, but if it's just Gwyn, it'll reset once you finish the game. I'll agree about ranking in as many covenants as you can (or care anyway) because it'll obviously be a bit easier now. After that, you can kill all the npcs for the drops.

Kill all the npc for "rare" stuff and keepers souls.

Make sure you have done the DLC.

Checklist

- Make sure you killed Kalameet
- Ranked up on Covenants
- Killed the Daughters of Chaos (1 Boss, 1NPC and 1 Firekeeper)
- Got both Sunlight Spear Miracle.
- Kill all the NPC's Oswald Included.
- Joined Alvina's Covenant (the fat cat group)
- Kill Gwyndolin (just mentioned it because it's easy to miss this one)

Kill Every NPC, Including Pricilla and Gough (A lot of people forget them). Kindle every bonfire and get all the fire keeper souls you can (You should be able to get 6 in the first playthrough). Kill Shiva and Domnhall of Zena. Don't kill the eternal dragon. Or Kaathe/Frampt. Do kill Kalameet and Manus

Kill a giantdad.
that wall will then prepare your mind for the ease that is gwyn lord of cinder.
also, kill all the blacksmiths, all of them.
hell, kill everyone, once you reach the endboss, you won't be needing them.

You can get 7 per playthrough, get your estus maxed out. However, I heard that killing a fire keeper will lose you the rite of kindling upgrades to their fires next playthrough.

There are moral consequences though.

You'll have to live with the thought that you killed them in another reality, a reality where these people are dead, and anyone they knew will forever mourn. And everyone will know you as a murderer.
