Balder Side Sword for end game?
The BSS dropped for me very early in the game and I've been using it ever since. I've got it up to +10 and I just cleared out the New Londo Ruins at SL 69.

I wanted to know if this weapon is good enough for the end game. I have a high DEX/END build so the standard +15 upgrade path seems the best option for me. There was one occasion when I was fighting the stray demon and the weapon felt underwhelming. I had to switch to my +5 Uchi to get past that fight.

Having said that, I still prefer the BSS moveset over all the other weapons I have found. So should I commit to +15 and spend the only Titanite Slab I have or should I wait until I find a better weapon?

So far only the Tomb of Giants, Duke's Archives, Lost Izalith and the DLC are left.

That's enough reason to make it +15

And no wonder you found the uchigatana better for stray demon, since he bleeds...

Yeah, the funny thing is that any bleed weapon will work, even the nearby Morningstar or the Bandit's Knife.

The scaling on that weapon gets even better at +15 so you should stick with it.

Literally any weapon in the game is viable with the right scaling.

Honostly, any weapon can be good for end game, and if you enjoy and prefer the balder side sword as you have stated, than you should probably go through with it, however, I would hold off on making it +15 and keep it at +14 until you are absolutely certain your willing to spen the titanite slab on it. Titanite slabs are a fairly difficult thing to get in DSI and those you acquire should be spent wisely.

Currently, I have three top DEX weapons I prefer using.

Ricard's Rapier
Balder Side Sword
Falchion

I think all three are about as good as eachother, and the BSS is very well-rounded.
If you think you're good with the Balder's versatile moveset, then it's good for you.

For speed and critical hitsI like the Bandit Knife, Queelag's Fury Sword and the Gold Tracer. That bandit blade is amazing when you upgrade it, even with low dex.....

Falcion is mostly used in buff builds, so normal or crystal path is the way to go.

Spouting opinions as facts... They have different qualities that makes them better over the other, so they're essentially equal in pros and cons.

But I'm sure the Falchion is simply superior in you mind because it can be buffed. Downside to thinking that, is that the Falchion alone is not buffed. You need to buff your weapon to make it superior. So really, a Buffed Falchion is superior to Gold Tracer. That is what you're saying, but instead you just make blanket statements without explanation, or making clear that you're just sharing your opinion. GG.

Also, your criteria for weapons seems to be based on PvP viability. That's not what all the weapons and defense values in the game are balanced around. It's balanced around how far into the game you are when you find the weapons. You can get the Falchion incredibly early, whereas the GT you cannot. You can also make the Falchion into a Div/Mag for early game magic bonus damage.

There are many things that make the action of obtaining and upgrading a weapon less sensible than another weapon. Factor that in. There are weapons it takes ages to get. Factor that in. There are weapons that aren't viable unless you spam R1. Factor that in.

We've had this argument. He doesn't care.
AnKalameet Jun 22, 2016 @ 12:38pm
Literally only with a high end spell buff, over half of which are nullified by GMB, all of which are nullified by Vow of Silence, all of which can be camped out, and all of which require extra stats to use.

You do realize, that's just an opinion. Right?
AnKalameet Jun 22, 2016 @ 3:30pm
Tracer R2s are considerably cooler than Falchion R2s, even if both are relatively worthless.
