[FIXED - update] HELP No Audio in Full Screen through HDMI and Windows 10
[Update] - This post helped me by Jonbrochill16 Dec 29, 2015 @ 1:05am

"I'm pretty sure this is a driver issue on windows 10 and has something to do with how the nvidia gpu handshakes with the integrated Intel gpu which is responsible for driving the HDMI port...

Here is how I resolved the issue:
1. Plug the HDMI in and go to device manager (right click start -> device manager)
2. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers"
3. Right click "Intel Display Audio" or something like that and uninstall.
4. Restart the PC
5. Right click the sound icon in the system tray and make sure the TV is set to default.
6. Load up the game and all should be good.

My specs for reference:
win10, i5 skylake, 960m, intel integrated graphics 530

Good luck, hope this helps!"

Hi, for some reason I don't get any audio when DS is in fullscreen and connected to the TV through HDMI. My other steam games work fine.

I have Windows 10, dsfix, and NVIDIA graphics card in my laptop. My sibling also has this game and Windows 10 but is still able to get full screen sound just fine through the same HDMI cable.

Someone else posted a similar thread but I didn't see a clear solution. Please offer up any assistance if possible.

dsfix clean reinstall maybe, is your sibling on same CPU?

open the mix\sound hardware manager in windows (bottom right corner of your desktop, audio icon, right click on it) and make sure the hdmi is the main audio output instead of something else

Sorry for the late reply. I have previously done a reinstall of dsfix due to trying to fix a previous issue. My CPU is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4810MQ but my sibling's is AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon(TM) HD.

Sorry for late response, I have tried to do that too but I may try again. Although, I don't hear anything from the TV when I hit test.

I tried to disable the other devices and I still receive no sound. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this?

I'd like to know as well for future reference.

Same here. After a search I guess the work around is to plug audio out pc to audio in tv.
Not really what your looking for, but for now ? Have you tried your pc on the other tv
that has sound in full screen using the same hdmi cable ?

Yeah, I was hoping to not have to buy anything. It doesn't give me sound on other TV's either. My other steam games usually work fine though.

You can always try not running it with DSfix installed, to see if DSfix is indeed the problem.
After you discern whether it's the game's fault or the mod's fault, the problem should become easier to locate and fix.

Unless you're one of those peculiar "60fps master race" folks... in which case, just take the suggestion the other guy gave.

I might have tried that but I'll try again to see. Although, I don't use DSfix for 60fps, but for a steady 30fps, texture ovveride, resolution, etc.

I found a solution as getting an AUX cable did not help. Post updated to reflect this. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I tried this fix with Spintires and it worked the first time only.

Temp fix is running it in windowed mode.

I have discovered this is also a temp fix for Baja Edge of Control for which I have the same problem.

If I run Spintires in windowed mode with HDMI sound and switch to full screen, the game either crashes or the sound cuts out and it has to be restarted.

Would disabling the "Intel Display Audio" option have the same effect of deleting it? I disabled it but there was no change and I am too afraid to just flat out delete it without knowing exactly what it does

That driver sends audio through the HDMI port.

Deleting it proved annoying to me because I had to find it again, which was unexpectedly difficult. I assumed I could just delete it and it would re-install itself uponrebooting. I was wrong. This might not be everyone's situation though.

As far as disabling it, it will be enough to troubleshoot problems, no need to delete it completely just to test out stuff.

Glad I decided against it then. I just tried running it in windowed mode like you said and it worked! Came to the conclusion that some games in fullscreen mode just don't work with my tv's sound. So the plan for me was changing 1/4 of my games to windowed mode, which isn't so bad. The only games I can't get sound to work for are Bastion and Undertale, probably because they go fullscreen different from other games. Anyway, thanks for the advice PieceKeeper! You'd think they'd make this ♥♥♥♥ easier to set up lol.
