Sorry for the late reply. I have previously done a reinstall of dsfix due to trying to fix a previous issue. My CPU is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4810MQ but my sibling's is AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon(TM) HD.
Sorry for late response, I have tried to do that too but I may try again. Although, I don't hear anything from the TV when I hit test.
Yeah, I was hoping to not have to buy anything. It doesn't give me sound on other TV's either. My other steam games usually work fine though.
After you discern whether it's the game's fault or the mod's fault, the problem should become easier to locate and fix.
Unless you're one of those peculiar "60fps master race" folks... in which case, just take the suggestion the other guy gave.
I might have tried that but I'll try again to see. Although, I don't use DSfix for 60fps, but for a steady 30fps, texture ovveride, resolution, etc.
Temp fix is running it in windowed mode.
I have discovered this is also a temp fix for Baja Edge of Control for which I have the same problem.
If I run Spintires in windowed mode with HDMI sound and switch to full screen, the game either crashes or the sound cuts out and it has to be restarted.
Deleting it proved annoying to me because I had to find it again, which was unexpectedly difficult. I assumed I could just delete it and it would re-install itself uponrebooting. I was wrong. This might not be everyone's situation though.
As far as disabling it, it will be enough to troubleshoot problems, no need to delete it completely just to test out stuff.
