Do I actually have to get rank 2 in the Chaos servant covenant? If so, there's no way i'm gonna be able to do it. 30 humanity is just wa too much to give up, when i barely have any at all.

The Dark Souls Wiki sates that if I try to enter Lost Izalith from the bonfire after the Centipede Demon (Which is pathetically easy, by the way) Solaire will go insane and later attack me at the fog door for the Bed of Chaos. It says the only way to get him not to is to open the shortcut that requires you to be rank two in the Chaos servant covenant to open.

You could also use poison mist to kill the bug on the other side without opening the door... but that's kinda lame. You can farm plenty of humanity from the rats in the depths.

Is there a specific place that's good for that? I didn't really see anywhere where there were a ton of rats, at least not that I remember.

Near the bonfire in the depths, 5 rats where the greataxe is found... but I like traversing the whole area and come back from the shortcut, you kill more rats and it's less boring, lol.

If you don't progress his questline you can kill the maggot and continue the quest afterwards, but I think the previous point is Anor londo, so you're probably way past that already.

Covetous Gold Serpent Ring + 10 soft humanity and you can go from 0 humanity items to 99 in just a couple hours... maybe 3 or 4 max (in my anecdotal experience).

Grinding.. you either hate it or... don't hate it that miuch.

Use 10 soft humanity to increase item discovery (aka drop rate), gold serpent ring also works pretty well, you could also get even more humanity from humanity phantom at the abyss, but you gotta do a lot of other things before accessing there.

If you want easy humanity, rats is the best way to farm

Yes, You want the short cut and guess what ?..... so you can do more farming but if you follow the advice above it won't take as long as you think. Oh yeah, you'll meet some distractions along the way....lmao

Yes, but when you leave the chaos covenant you will drop a rank, the short cut should still work though, once you use it. You'll see what I mean later.
