Sanctuary Guardian is some serious bull****

What a bunch of complete crap. I've played 200+ hours of this game. I'm completely fine with "gitting gud," but this is absolutely ridiculous. Moves a million miles an hour, I barely do any damage to him. General advice seems to just be, "Chip away at him." Great.

It wouldn't be nearly as infuriating if he wasn't basically locking out the additional content, which I haven't experienced yet.

Since OP hasn't experienced any of the DLC yet it's probably be better not to post spoilers. Even though the game is old and the twin Sanctuary Guardians is an optional fight.

This isn't a spoiler. It's more like an easter egg. Most people that have played Dark Souls don't even know that this fight exists. You have to really go out of your way to find it.

Every single thread of "hardest boss in souls" I mention it and there's always someone quoting me and telling me that they have beaten the game countless times, they have hundreds of hours in the game and never knew this fight existed

That's true. It's actually a good thing then that you posted it. I think I only found out about them through Lobosjr's slow run of Dark Souls 1 and it blew my mind. At least the arena is huge and really beautiful to look at. In Dark Souls 2 there's Lud & Zallen, the King's Pets which is kind of a nod to the Sanctuary Guardians but the arena is boring and it's such a hassle to get to. Also they don't fly so it's not anywhere near as exciting, lol. Now that I think about it I wish there were more bosses like Sanctuary Guardian.

I have 1300 hours in the game and I've never once heard mention of that. Definitely an easter egg, because I never would have thought to return to that area after defeating the bosses. I'm surprised this fight isn't included in Dark Souls all boss speedruns!

Great find, though! Can't wait to challenge them. Maybe the remaster will make that the mandatory fight!

Oh man that Dual Sanc fight. Lol the video's music was perfect, that fight really did feel like Monster Hunter (aside from death = restart completely).

Not really out of the way, I'm a little surprised most people haven't found it. But yeah, you really have no reason to return there later. They are also weaker than the boss version (Lessers) but still, two of them is rough.

I mean you can still cheese them with poison arrows from outside since there's no fog gate, so it's totally doable if you just want to kill them, but fighting them legit... that'd be impressive to see in an actual speedrun

Even Kalameet, a dragon, isn't very vulnerable to lightning spears, even though it's supposed to especially effective against dragons and the same weapon used by Gwyn to take down the dragons.. glad they didn't run into Kalameet I guess.

The strongest single hitters do good damage against them. The only problem is how little casts they give you unless you dusk ring. Also forced to use buffs and buff rings.

Our Lightning Spears are nothing compared to Gwyn's back in his prime.

Kalameet is a monster though, and Anor Londo was afraid of him even though he's just a dinky little dragon.

Most of th dlc bosses have massive elemental resisitence (there are exceptions) your best bet would be to use a max lvl normal or raw( whichever is better on your build) and then buff it for extra damage.
