Mechwarrior 3 Mod
Hi all,
for years I've been working on a mod of mechwarrior 3 using tools given to me by Finnegan McCool, and it's still a work in progress but I expect that before not too long it will get to the point where nothing else can be done, and even if the best of hopes can be accomplished with this effort, the game engine is out-dated and inferior and will only ever be nothing more than something to fool around with.

Thus, I am hoping to see what kind of a mod I can do using materials files from mech3 on the source engine, so I have purchased Half-life2 and the source sdk.

I'm hoping there are enough people in this community who would be interested in helping.

What I'm hoping to do after only a small amount of thought, is perhaps re-create the mech3 and pirate's moon maps in a multiplayer environment, using the mechs and weapons from both games as a starting point and build on it. So, I guess it would be a total conversion mod.

Thus far I have failed to get the sdk to function, and upon being frustrated with the FAQ, I am reaching out to this community.

What problems are you having the SDK? SDK launcher in Steam is no longer used, if you are looking for the latest code use Valves git hub page for 2013 here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/source-sdk-2013

Download the Source 2013 sdk tools from the tools menu in steam (no valve game is required now to my knowledge) and launch hammer from steam/steamapps/common/source sdk 2013/bin hammer.
