Converting .WAD Files
What is the best utility for converting .WAD files?

I have tried VTFedit but it always have 'convert' blanked out, and xwad.exe doesn't work either.

Are there any other programs than can convert .wad to source textures?

EDIT: I have extracted the textures as .vtf, but the vmt files came out all wrong which i am currently using another program to fix (the author is doing some bugfixes on it for me) which is VMTman[forums.alliedmods.net]

Can you convert it to a .png or .jpg file, then reconvert to a vmt/.vtf

Check the utilities section.

What kind of WADS are these? Are they Quake/Half-Life wads or Doom wads? I'm pretty sure VTFEdt/xwad only works for HL/Quake wads. If you trying to convert Doom wads, just open it up with a WAD editor like SLADE, extract the textures as images and use VTFEdit on them.

So you've basically admitted to piracy?
