How to use textures from other source games?
Hey yo! Juan here again.
So i am making a modern themed map and i need to use modern textures, BECAUSE HL2 TEXTURES ARE FULL OF ABANDONED AND DIRTY THEMED TEXTURES.
So i want to use CS:GO textures but i don't know how.
Also, Could someone give me a texture pack?

Extract the materials folder from csgo's vpk.

You might find GCFScape useful for doing that extraction. You obviously need to have access to the game files of the game you wish to acquire the materials.

No, the GCFScape is easy to use for extractions (click and drag to your folder). You'll need to use a decompiler program to snag items from other maps (but ask the creator of the map first).

And you will need VtfVersionChanger (it's on TopHattWaffle website). To convert csgo vtf from 4.5 to older format (4.2-4.4) supported by older games.
