Any games like The Witness?
This game is one of my favorite games of all time. Obviously the environment is beautiful and the puzzles are really solid and very fun to figure out the mechanics for, but what really did it for me are the environmental puzzles (the snake puzzles hidden in the environment). The feeling of awe when I first noticed one of them and then figured out it was an actual puzzle you could do, after which I started noticing them everywhere, is something no game has ever quite been able to replicate for me. So in short, does anybody know of any other games (puzzle or not, fine with anything really) that can give you that same sense of awe-struck wonder?

Regarding environmental puzzles... Well, the first thing that come to my mind is

2nd'ed.

Antichamber employs the same teaching method as The Witness, and is riddled with secrets & mind bending environmental puzzles.

Nobody has suggested Fez:

Very different type of puzzler, but has revelatory moments in a similar fashion to The Witness.

The Talos Principle doesn't have any "environmental" puzzles, but its puzzles are genuinely 3-dimensional (plus, great music, and beautiful graphics too). More importantly, it succeeds where The Witness (in my opinion) fails: it has a plot that connects your in-game choices and progress to its philosophical content, thereby making an original statement that you find yourself actively involved in.

One game that hasn't been mentioned and which bears some similarity to "environmental" puzzles is Superliminal. The puzzles in Superliminal toy with your sense of perspective, making you think in different ways. Marvellous use of depth (in the literal sense).

You've just exposed not collecting stars. If you did, you'd confirm the usage of environment in TTP puzzles. In fact, it doesn't rely hardly on visual markers, but on connections between puzzles, forming a whole system from pieces. That's why stars are entertainig in their own.

I did collect stars. I wouldn't call them "environmental puzzles" since they don't really employ environmental clues, with a few exceptions (like the "invisible bridge" - if you know, you know).

island of insight might fit the bill when it comes to environmental puzzle and guess the mechanics puzzle.

Only down side : the dev dropped completely support for the game and only via modding some bugs can be fixed.

Also, the price. If you want to enjoy endless puzzles for the next ten years, it's a fair price. But I think you'll want to play something else.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is another puzzle game that requires that you go a little bit insane to finish it.

Can I ask people to pay attention to the title of this discussion ? Not all puzzle games are "like The Witness".

Fract OSC. it is strikingly similar in playstyle to this game (i think i actually found this game from reading reviews of Fract maybe??). It involves exploring the gorgeous low-poly world and finding puzzles to solve, and has the 'interaction mode' to interact with the puzzles. However, it does not have those environment puzzles you are looking for. But it is my favoritest game so i have to recommend it. The music is great.

There's a word-puzzle game called Lingo (sequel coming out soon) that's pretty similar to The Witness (walking simulator, learning curve, zoom in on individual panels to solve puzzles, figure out the rules for yourself, environmental puzzles, bonus/secret areas). Lots of annoying teleports, though.
