Can't get the game to run

Hello, I recently bought this game, like a week or two ago, and have been trying to get it to run but I've had no luck. I feel like I've tried everything: Copying the Binkw32.dll file, setting the compatibility to Windows Xp (Service Pack 3), Windows Vista, and Windows 7, I've downloaded the 4 GB Patch and it claimed to have worked, I followed a seperate guide to set the intro vid files in the text document to something else and change a couple other things.

I am either simply not understanding something and thus doing something wrong, or I simply have no luck. Any help would be appreciated, as in depth as possible for my slow brain. I thank anyone who can help in advance.

Do you have your game running in the Task Manager? Or is it simply cancels each time you try to launch the game? If so, you can try adding -novid -heapsize 1048576 -dxlevel 81 (or other dx level) to your launch options.
