Shani and Triss
I keep wondering, is there any opportunity not to choose neither Shani nor Triss? I'm kind of sure that Geralt should remain to be friends with benefits with Triss, not consider her as a true love or something. I don't really recall any Shani appearance in books and I didn't really like her in the game, so... Can Geralt not to have any romances while Yennifer is not here and just be F-friends with Triss? Can it change Geralt's relationship with Triss in Witcher 2 if I import my Witcher save files? They seem really into each other in second game...
I really need a real girlfriend =.=

I don't think that's possible, you must choose one. And importing save files are not that influencial. So I think Triss's and Geralt's relationship is the same in Withcher 2 no matter what.

I think choosing Triss is the best decision, although in my playthrough I chose Shani…

i had a problem as well, who to choose... finally i have chosen Triss as she will probably be of use or helpful in the game...

Well yes, if I have to chose between Shani and Triss, I will chose Triss of course. I just know that Geralt in books always considered Triss as a loyal and valuable friend (with benefits) while having a really complicated and strong romance with Yennifer.
Looks like I just have no choise but takin Triss as a love interest.
Well it comes down to this aint the old Geralt you use to know. He was given another chance to be reborn. *Details contain spoilers so finish the games and u will know how* With that being said he is a new person. As Yennifer was his oldest and truest love from the books; he tequnicly died in those books leaving everything behind in those books. That being said I feel that Triss is and should be Geralts love choice even if Yennifer was to come back. As impossible as that is I can only see one senerio were this would happen and that is if Triss loved Geralt enough to sacerfise her soul turning her body into a vassel on which Yennifer would take over. BUT As this is the new Geralt I do not feel he would ever do that *Unless player choosen* for he has spent time with triss and learned to love her as he loved Yennifer.

So to sum it up. Old Geralts love for Yennifer died with him. And new Geralts Love for Triss is the same as his old for Yennifer.

Yennefer is alive and well, and just like Geralt she too has Amnesia, it is revealed at the end of TW2 that she is somewhere in Nilfgaard, and that Letho and his Witcher pals spent some time travelling with her and actually protected her out of respect for Geralt, even at the end of TW2, Geralt sets off to find Yennefer, TW2 helps to set the tone to Geralt and Triss' relationship, since you can choose to make her the priority in your quest, or rather the pursuit of the Kingslashers in order to clean your name. Sufice to say, if you make Triss the center of your quest, their relationship can evolve into more than friendship with benefits

Welp, I really shouldn't have to read first sentence from the post above... I just hope, I didn't spoil everything for me. On this sad note I will go to sleep and try not to think about it.
BTW, there's a chance that there's Ciri on this picture[sticktwiddlers.com]. So something really awesome going to be in W3

Wtf... I have not played Witcher 2 for quite some time now but I remember playing a pirated version before the game was even released and the ending was Geralt either spares the king slayer or kills him off, then walking away with Triss he see a lady bug then lets it crawl on his finger and lets it fly off which in Polish folk lore means that the letting a lady bug fly off your finger; the lady bug with fly to your true love and then credits. So did they add some secret ending.. I heard alot of dlc came out, was there something that changed the ending...

But even if so, in the original TW2 it is said many times that Yennifer kills her self to save Geralt... And well... ♥♥♥♥ if Yennifer does really live to me that honestly ruins so much... This was suppost to be a new chapter for Geralt, a new reboot. I mean I get it free choice and all but looking through Andrzej Sapkowski eyes this is pure breaking of his character: Geralt. In The begg. and many parts through out TW2 Geralt is seen to love Triss. Should stay that way. I mean ive read the books too and I loved Geralt with Yennifer but everything Triss has put on the line for Geralt and it going both ways; Geralt sacerfising so much for her through TW1 - TW2. It would be a shame if he does not stay with Triss. Free choice is fine and all But if your going to play the game through the mindset of Geralt which you should atleast once you would know he would stay with Triss.

And for all that say "Well Geralt should be with Yennifer because of the books!" News flash this aint the Books. Yennifer "did" the most heroic thing that can be done in a story: Giving her life away to save Geralts now that beautiful meaning is gone from what ive read if she really lives because of the cry baby fans that cant deal with change.

Gee man, don't pirate this game, it just doesn't deserve it, you get alot of things wrong too, Yennefer didn't sacrifice herself for Geralt, (I mean, after the events in Rivia, since even during Rivia she just tried to heal him and failed) Geralt actually made a deal with the King of the Hunt, the deal was that he would take his soul in exchange for Yennefer's, the Hunt agrees and takes Geralt instead, Geralt then becomes a rider of the Wild Hunt himself, what happens after that is yet unkown, but it is said many times over TW2 that Yennefer MAY be alive, and by the end, if you spare Shaela, she explains that Yen is alive, somewhere in Nilfgaard, it is later that Letho explains that she has amnesia aswell, and that he even got the chance to travel with her (You really must've skipped some dialogue then), and the ladybug doesn't mean true love, you get that ending even if you went with Roche, and didn't chose to rescue Triss, which kinds of make it clear that Triss is not Geralt's priority, contrary to taking Iorveth's path, and rescuing Triss instead of going after Philippa.

At the end, it's still a game of choice, it is roughly hinted towards most of TW2 that a huge part of TW3 will focus on Geralt deciding between Triss and Yen, it is a game mostly about him this time, instead of about political schemes like the previous two

And gee man, again, don't be a roach, this is one of those games that seriously deserves some good money, specially by the prices it's sold. :/

If you want Yennifer, just wait for Witcher 3 to come out. Game Informer did say that Yennifer is involved, and Triss (for now) is just a friend.

If that's true and there would be Ciri, I would be soooo happy.

His true love is Triss. By true love I dont mean love of his life, that would be yennefer, but Triss had a hopeless thing for him for a long time, years before he actually met Shani. Ofcourse he is in same hopeless affair with Yennefer.
If you remember the part where Triss is talking about Gennie, geralt and Yennefer almost destryoing the town (She actually does not mention Yennefer by name but that story was about her) that is an interesting spot, where I would point out: Story in short was about gennie destroying the town and only hting that could stop it was making him grant all three wishes. Ofcourse last wish was wish of Geralt, which actually stop the dissaster. He wished for Yennefer to love him. And that was the start of whole epic romance througout saga.
As a player I am glad I can actually stay with Triss, as she deserves him more - ofcourse that is just my opinion. But while Yennefer was forced by a gennie wish to love Geralt, Triss always loved him naturally.
If it comes to Shani, she is sweet and all but she is from entirely different world. She is a fresh medic, few years back she was promiscuite student of medicine, she is young and lives very far from things like bad magic, monsters etc. She did play her significant roles in books and in game too but she is not that major character Triss actually is. Which may seem strong to players who didnt read anything but this is how things are.
